It's safe to call Sobhita Dhulipala a game-changer; whether that's been with her choice of roles in thriller films or how she lives her life off the screen. It's even true for the work she does when she isn't on a film set because the actress has now been announced as India's very first beauty muse for British luxury beauty brand, Charlotte Tilbury, which is exclusively available in India through Nykaa. It's a monumental move as India gets its fair share of global representation in the beauty market too, with Sobhita leading the way. In a chat with Dayle Pereira-Alemao, Sobhita speaks to HELLO! India about how her perception of beauty has changed through the years, the item that never leaves her makeup bag and more.
HELLO!: How have your perceptions of beauty changed over time?
Sobhita Dhulipala: It has changed a lot over the years. Different meanings but all relevant to those ages. Now I enjoy beauty as a way to just have fun. I'm much more playful, I'm much more theatrical because I realized I enjoy it. So I'm much more comfortable with myself—how I am, how I look, what I want. So there's a lot more fun now.
HELLO!: Where is the most unexpected place you have done your makeup?
Sobhita Dhulipala: Mostly in cars! Like, I'm running late half the time, so I just do things in the car. I'm used to it, which is why multi-purpose products are a personal favourite.
HELLO!: How does it feel being the India's first beauty muse for Charlotte Tilbury?
Sobhita Dhulipala: It's an incredible feeling. Everyone knows how incredible some of their products are. The Pillow Talk lipsticks—I think most girls I know have one in their handbag all the time.
