Actor and SNL comedian Pete Davidson is expecting his first child with his girlfriend, model Elsie Hewitt. She took to Instagram to announce their pregnancy with photos and a video, captioned as "Welp now everyone knows we had sex." It showed Hewitt getting the sonography done, and an ultrasound image of their unborn baby.
Infamous for his variety of inkings and high-profile dating history, Pete has been on a mission to get rid of his total of 200+ tattoos since 2021, which he says will take another "10+ years" and six figures to remove. Fans even got to see what he would look like completely tattoo-free in a photoshoot for Reformation this year. Davidson cited his mental health as one of the reasons he was getting rid of his tattoos and expressed his desire to build a new public persona. By now, the actor-comedian has removed 30% of his tattoos.
Many of his tattoos were for his winding list of celebrity girlfriends as the actor has a history of dating high-profile actresses, socialites and models in whirlwind romances, most of which lasted months. Reportedly, around 70 of his 200+ tattoos were inspired by his previous relationships as Davidson has dedicated a great deal of his ink to Cazzie David, Ariana Grande, and Kim Kardashian.
Cazzie David
Pete Davidson was in a relationship with Cazzie David for two years, from May 2016 to May 2018, making it one of his longest relationships. The couple first met when David's father, Seinfeld and Curb Your Enthusiasm creator Larry David, appeared on Saturday Night Live in 2015 when Pete starred on SNL. They began dating shortly after, and Davidson got numerous tattoos dedicated to his girlfriend during their two year-long relationship.
One of them was Cazzie's name written in cursive on Davison's ring finger, a tattoo he has gotten rid of since then. Another tattoo that he got for her was a self-portrait of her face that she drew as a child. Shortly after the two broke up in 2015, Davidson covered the tattoo with more ink by his tattoo artist friend, Jon Mesa. "Did this crazy cover-up last night on my boy @petedavidson," Mesa captioned a now-deleted Instagram post showing off the new tattoo, a forest of trees and a moon, which also covered up a few others.
Ariana Grande
One of his wildest relationships was when Pete Davidson dated and got engaged to Ariana Grande within a month, immediately after breaking up with Cazzie David. The two started dating in May of 2018 and were engaged by June 2018. The brighter they glowed, the faster they burnt, it seems as the couple broke up less than five months later, in October 2018. Their fast-track romance forever changed the world of rebound relationships and also inspired many tattoos for the comedian, most of which he was quick to cover up after their split.
Days after the two started dating, they were seen sporting matching cloud tattoos. To coordinate with Grande's neck tattoo, Davidson got the words 'mille tendresse' on the back of his neck in the same font as his then-fiancée. The French phrase, made popular by the 1961 film Breakfast at Tiffany's, translates to 'a thousand tendernesses.' After their ugly break-up, Davidson covered this tattoo with the word 'cursed' in capital letters. Another tattoo he got pretty early in their relationship included a small tattoo of a black bunny mask—which looks similar to the accessory worn by Grande on the Dangerous Woman album cover—behind his ear. After the breakup, he covered it with a heart design and added two Xs and a small smiley face. Davidson got a tattoo of Grande's last name on the side of his abdomen, which he later covered up with a large black keyhole. He also got Grande's initials written on his thumb, though he later covered the tribute with a kite. Pete also has the word 'warning' tattooed on his wrist. The meaning behind the tattoo hasn't been confirmed, but it was done shortly after his breakup with Ariana Grande, which may have to do with the death of his relationship with Grande.
Kim Kardashian
Another one of his high-profile girlfriends was the oldest Kardashian, Kim. The two started dating shortly after Kardashian got a divorce from her ex-husband and father of her four children, Kanye West. Pete and Kim dated for nine months, from October 2021 to August 2022; and even after the breakup, the two continued to remain friends. During this relationship, he got several tattoos: the first one of them being 'KIM' on his chest. He later got the words 'my girl is a lawyer' tattooed on his clavicle. In April 2022, fans spotted another new tattoo on Davidson when paparazzi photographed the couple in Los Angeles. The tattoo, which was on Davidson's collarbone area, appeared to read "KNSCP", which would be Kardashian's initials, as well as those of her four children: North, Saint, Chicago, and Psalm.
Davidson's final tattoo for Kardashian seemed to be dedicated to the couple's first kiss. The tattoo, which read 'Aladdin' and 'Jasmine' with an infinity symbol between them, was likely a nod to the sketch they did together on Saturday Night Live as the main characters from the 1992 Disney movie, Aladdin. In January 2023, Davidson was photographed shirtless on the beach in Hawaii, and the snaps appeared to reveal that he had all of his tattoos which were dedicated to Kardashian, removed.
After dating Kardashian, Pete has been linked to Emily Ratajkowski, Chase Sui Wonders, and Madelyn Cline before getting together with Hewitt. However, all these relationships took place after Davidson made the decision to get rid of ink. Other famous ex-girlfriends that he never got inked for were Carly Aquilino, Margaret Qualley, Kaia Gerber, Kate Beckinsale and Phoebe Dynevor.
