Whether it's an ode to their lineage or a mash of their own names, Bollywood celebrities come up with the most creative baby names; most of which have a unique meaning. For example, the badshah of Bollywood Shah Rukh Khan's youngest son, AbRam Khan. His name was inspired by Abraham, a pivotal figure in Abrahamic faiths. Shah Rukh Khan and Gauri decided to reflect their secular values by capitalising R as an ode to the Hindu God, Ram. Bollywood celebrities' baby names are full of such unique tales, with deep thought put into them. 1. Evaarah Vipula Rahul

The newest addition to the Bollywood celebrity baby bandwagon is Athiya Shetty and KL Rahul's newborn girl, Evaraah. Born in March 2025, Evaarah means a gift from God and has roots in Sanskrit. Her middle name, Vipula, was given to honour her maternal grandmother, according to a post by Athiya.

Raha Kapoor

Alia Bhatt and Ranbir Kapoor had announced their daughter's name on Instagram. The Jigra actor revealed in the post that the name was suggested by Raha's grandmother, Neetu Kapoor. She went on to reveal the meaning: "Raha, in its purest form, means divine path, in Swahili, she is Joy; in Sanskrit, Raha is a clan; in Bangla, it means rest, comfort, or relief; in Arabic, peace; and it also means happiness, freedom, and bliss."

Dua Padukone Singh

Bollywood power couple, Deepika Padukone and Ranveer Singh, welcomed their baby girl in November, 2024. Deepika shared a picture of her baby girl's feet, all dressed in red. In the caption, she shared that her name was Dua, meaning 'prayer' in Urdu. The actor disclosed the reason behind the name 'Dua', as their daughter is the answer to their prayers.  

Lara Dhawan

Varun Dhawan and his wife Natasha Dalal welcomed their first child in June 2024. The couple initially kept the details of their child private, until later that year. During the promotion of his Amazon Prime original spy drama Citadel, Varun Dhawan disclosed the baby name on an episode of Amitabh Bachan's Kaun Banega Crorepati. While reciting a lovely poem he wrote for his daughter, the actor revealed his daughter's name as Lara. The name has Latin, Greek and Russian roots, and its most common meaning is said to be 'protection'. 

Malti Marie Chopra Jones

Priyanka Chopra and Nick Jonas's daughter has a name influenced by both their cultures. Their daughter is named after both their mothers. Malti is derived from Priyanka's mother, Dr Madhu Chopra's middle name, which is also Malti. Marie is the middle name of Nick's mother, Denise. Malti is a Sanskrit word for a 'small fragrant flower or moonlight', whereas Marie comes from the Latin word 'Maris', which means 'star of the sea' and has biblical significance.

Taimur Ali Khan and Jehangir Ali Khan

The son of Bollywood diva, Kareena Kapoor Khan and her nawab husband, Saif Ali Khan, has a name just as strong as the family he comes from. The name Taimur has Turkic and Mongolic origins and means 'as strong as iron'. His younger brother Jehangir's name has Parsi origins that mean 'to come' or 'to bring', though the child is fondly called 'Jeh'.
