Celebrities often strive to create an aesthetic that's current and relevant to the trends unfolding across the world; whether that means tailoring their personal style or public persona to what the trend du jour is. Tara Sutaria is and always has been, strikingly different. With vintage nods throughout her fashion choices and a retro aesthetic that permeates through the rest of her life, nothing about the Bollywood actress aches to be faddish. It also engulfs her ways when the season gets chillier, sparklier and merrier. In an exclusive conversation with Dayle Pereira-Alemao, Associate Editor of HELLO! India, Tara Sutaria shares what her Christmas traditions look like, how her skin keeps up with the hectic holiday season and more.
Sutaria's signature holiday makeup look is unsurprising; a vintage chic extension of her personal style. "I love a vintage Christmas, so for me it’s all about retro waves in my hair, maybe a deep lip (which I don’t do very often), or a really nice winged liner. I tend to repeat those."
As someone who enjoys having her friends over for sit-down dinners and cooking turkeys and pudding from scratch for her guests, Christmas and its traditions are particularly special for her. "It’s tradition for me to spend time with close friends and family, have lots of lovely things together and put up decorations on the tree," she says of what she's looking forward to during the holidays. It alludes to the family traditions passed down her. "When I was younger, my nani used to host these legendary parties and wonderful Christmas soirées — those are definitely my most memorable holiday moments", she recalls.

And when she's winding down, focusing on nourishing her skin during the chilly months is what does it for her. "A couple of days of really good skincare paired with a little less makeup and more focus on the skin makes all the difference", says Tara, adding, "These days, it’s been the Vitamin Enriched Face Base from Bobbi Brown (for me). It’s getting a little colder and there’s a nip in the air, so it feels warming, comforting, and really hydrating in these drier months."
