HELLO! India Exclusive: The quiet allure of Disha Patani

She loves video games and drifting, watches a lot of anime, gets her thrill in sporty activities, and is admittedly quite a tomboy. It may be baffling to some that this is how the statuesque glamazon Disha Patani describes herself. “I guess people would find it surprising to know that I’m a tomboy!” she laughs, a trait she says shaped her personality. “Growing up, I wasn’t even a tomboy. I was a boy! It took me some time to embrace my feminine side.” When we wonder how she transformed into the modish, womanly avatar of today, her answer is simple: “Life happens!”

As Disha preps for her shoot with HELLO!, the conversation is lighthearted, and she’s an easy laugh. “I often laugh for no reason. It’s just my personality!” says Disha, tittering once again, revealing yet another surprising tidbit about herself, as she’s ultra private about her life and appears reticent to the world outside. Being good-humoured makes it a challenging feat to keep a straight face when a particularly amusing punchline lands just right on the set of Welcome to the Jungle, the movie she’s currently shooting.
