
It was a landmark night for the India Today Group at the 25th Indian Television Academy Awards in Mumbai. The media powerhouse swept nine honours, with India Today and Aaj Tak crowned Popular Channel of the Year—an emphatic testament to its journalistic leadership. Vice Chairperson and Executive Editor-in-Chief Kalli Purie led the celebrations, accepting the awards on behalf of the organisation. The evening also recognised fearless reportage, with journalists Gaurav Sawant and Akshita Nandgopal applauded for their outstanding work. Adding gravitas to the milestone edition were Anjana Om Kashyap, Senior Managing Editor, Aaj Tak Special Projects & Head of Aaj Tak HD & Aaj Tak 2—who won Best News Anchor—and Sahil Joshi, Senior Managing Editor & Head of West Bureau & Mumbai Tak. Founded by Anu Ranjan, the Indian Television Academy’s ceremony also brought together industry stalwarts and cultural icons including Alia Bhatt and Anil Kapoor, celebrating 25 years of excellence and the enduring power of television storytelling.
