The Cannes Film Festival 2025 comes with the promise of a power-packed Indian contingent to represent the subcontinent in cinema (and style!) in Southern France. While the likes of Payal Kapadia and Urvashi Rautela have already made their entry onto the red carpet, it's safe to say that everybody has been waiting with bated breath for the arrival of Aishwarya Rai. After all, the Cannes Film Festival is synonymous with the star. In fact, the Miss World 1994 winner is one of the very first Indians to have attended the film event, first in 2004, decades before actresses and influencers made their way to the famous red carpet.

Though Aishwarya has been attending the festival for over 20 years, each and every time she appears down the steps of the Croisette, it's enough to make headlines and set trends for the rest of the season. She did that with striking purple lipstick in 2016, with her fairytale-esque Michael Cinco gown in 2017 and once again, at the 2025 edition.

Aishwarya Rai attended the Cannes 2025 event wearing a beautiful ivory saree making the former Miss world look synonymous with angelic. The ethereal creation by Manish Malhotra is a handwoven kadva Banarasi saree with a heirloom ruby tiered necklace and rings by Manish Malhotra jewellery.

Her makeup choices, which paired with her ensemble, included a sindoor placed right atop her forehead; her lips were painted ruby pink, her hypnotising eyes were emphasised with thick eyeliner, and she styled her long brown hair with a middle partition that flowed over her shoulders.

There's a reason they call Aishwarya Rai the queen of Cannes and this is why they do.
