Beyond the appreciation of cinema from all across the globe, the Cannes Film Festival is a well-known spectacle for fashion lovers. Trends straight off the runway parade on the red carpet, while being worn by some of the most notable faces of international cinema. This year, the organisers decided to switch things up at the very last minute and they introduced a dress code to avoid nudity and elaborate gowns for the entire 10-day duration of the event, right before the festival. However, that didn't deter celebrities from walking down the eponymous red carpet, putting their most fashionable feet forward. On day 4 of the festival, celebrities continue to make a mark in their sophisticated outfits and Team HELLO! has some favourites.
1. Kristen Stewart
Making her directorial debut for ‘The Chronology of Water,’ for which she waited years to direct, Kristen Stewart made it to the Cannes film festival in a pink tweed Chanel Suit. Always one for breaking the barriers, the actor, and now director, had only buttoned up the top of her short-sleeved jacket, which she wore with shorts overlaid with a sheer ankle-length skirt, all in the same hue. With her hair in platinum rose and peep-toe sandals in pale pink, she accessorised with a Chanel Bouton de Camelia Choker.
2. Angelina Jolie
Who doesn’t love to spot Angelia Jolie walking on the red carpets? A forever favourite, she strutted down at the 78th annual Cannes Film Festival in a sleeveless pastel floor length sheer gown from Brunello Cucinelli. Accessorising it with a statement diamond necklace as well as earrings, she let her hair down naturally. The Academy award winning actress is set to present the Trophée Chopard, to Marie Colomb and Finn Bennett this year.
3. Natalie Portman
Natalie Portman has always been a classy girl, and we are here for it. Donning a rutilent fish scale gown from archival Dior from the Fall Winter Collection 1951, the Black Swan actress made heads turn with her ensemble. Featuring a sparkly bodice, strapless neckline and a velvet bow on her chest, the ensemble was covered in sparkling fish scales. Tying up her hair in the sleek bun, she accessorised with a diamond-encrusted statement choker necklace, a gigantic statement ring, and matching diamond drop earrings.
4. Emma Stone
Always one for flamboyance, Emma Stone walked the red carpet with her Eddington co-stars Austin Butler, Pedro Pascal, Ari Aster, and Joaquin Phoenix, to state among the many. Playing the sculptural element in a custom Louis Vuitton, her ensemble was ornate with a rather eccentric neckpiece. Attached to her neckline, the shaped extension covered half her torso as well as her shoulder, while leaving her back bare, adding to the element of intrigue. Complimenting the architectural silhouette with classy emerald earrings, she adhered to the dress code and made an indelible mark.
5. Taha Shah Badussha
Be it the structured, tailored suits that reflect his masculine charm or the fluid silhouettes that he pulls off with ease, we have been gushing over Taha Shah Badussha and how! Walking the Cannes carpet for the film Paro, the actor donned a striped suit from Dhruv Sehgal’s eponymous brand. Behold, yet another spectacle of percolating Dandyism.
6. Julia Garner
As one of the few celebrities who adhered to the dress code while still heralding our acclaim, Julia Garner channeled the vintage inspired glamour in a lilac fringe Tom Ford by Haider Ackermann dress. A nod to the old Hollywood fashion sensibilities, she wore contrasting pointed heels as well as deep hued lipstick. Completing the look with slick back hair, she held our gaze with her sartorial statement.
7. Diane Kruger
Who said it was time to pass on the butter-yellow and bow trends already? In a summery kimono-inspired dress, Diane Kruger glammed up in Givenchy Fall 2025. Attending the Amrum photocall at Cannes, she completed the outfit with a massive cinched black belt that resembled half a bow. Finished with Givenchy’s black leather squared sandals and clean hairdo, the look definitely went down as one of the best styled over-sized looks.
