Across the length and breadth of India, there’s no dearth of influences to draw from, the need notwithstanding. And amid this treasure trove of inspiration lies Jaipur — what with its distinct Rajput architecture with ornate jaali work and stepwells, vibrant markets with colours galore, handicrafts like blue pottery work, and so much more. Now, a jewellery brand has drawn from the city’s Panchranga flag for a unique collaboration.
Tribe Amrapali has come together with The Palace Atelier to unveil a unique collection that celebrates Jaipur’s rich artistic and royal heritage through contemporary design — all of which bear the five colours of the city’s Pachranga flag. The designs draw from the architecture of Jaipur’s City Palace, as well as motifs ingrained in royal insignia. Among these, the sun emblem takes centre stage, alongside playful charms inspired by palace motifs.
All statement necklaces, earrings, bracelets, and rings were crafted through hand engraving, repoussé-style detailing, intricate stone setting, enamelling, and thread work. The colours and stones were thoughtfully chosen to reflect Jaipur’s vivid heritage palette, with semi-precious stones, pearls, and gold accents bringing together collectable products. The end result: playful, vibrant pieces that stand out, yet aren’t overwhelming.
“Pachranga is a story that needed to be retold, celebrated, and reinterpreted for today,” says Akanksha Arora, CEO of Tribe Amrapali. “Collaborating with The Palace Atelier allows us to carry Jaipur’s heritage forward in a way that feels modern, versatile, and accessible.”
“This collection is for everyone who carries Jaipur in their heart, wherever they may be,” says Princess Gauravi Kumari of Jaipur, who conceptualised The Palace Atelier as a concept store for the Maharaja Sawai Man Singh II Museum. “The colours of the Pachranga flag belong to all who call this city home. With this collection, we have recontextualised Jaipur’s spirit into designs that are rooted in our heritage while speaking to today.”
The collection was unveiled to a select audience over a glittering soirée at the palace, attended by royalty and the crème de la crème of Jaipur and beyond.
All in all, the Pachranga collection by Tribe Amrapali x The Palace Atelier is a true testament to Indian craftsmanship, and an even greater ode to Jaipur’s legacy, reimagined for a new era.
