1. Shilpa Shetty's Bastian
If there is one Indian celebrity-owned restaurant that has been gaining popularity for its one-of-a-kind ambience and delicious food, it is Bastian. Owned by Bollywood actor Shilpa Shetty, there are 4 Bastian restaurants across Mumbai, Pune and Bengaluru. Most famous among them, Bastain – At The Top is perched at the 48th floor of Kohinoor Square in Mumbai, giving an eagle-eye view of the city.
2. Virat Kohli's One8 Commune
After making multiple centuries and bringing loads of trophies home, Virat Kohli turned towards the culinary scene with his restaurant One8 Commune. With 10 operational outlets across seven cities, namely, Mumbai, Delhi, Pune, Gurgaon, Bengaluru, Hyderabad and Kolkata, it is safe to say that his career as a restaurateur is just as good as his batting career for the Indian cricket team.
3. Gauri Khan's Torii
A celebrity hotspot in Mumbai's Bandra, Gauri Khan's Torii is a progressive Asian restaurant serving delicious food with equally breathtaking interiors. The restaurant is decked in tones of gold, white and black, reminiscent of the Japanese style of decor. The interiors of the place are sketches by Khan herself, known to be a celebrated interior designer prior to dipping her toes in the food biz.
4. Karan Johar's Neuma
Along with directing and producing films, filmmaker Karan Johar also owns a bungalow restaurant in Mumbai's posh Colaba area. Co-founded by Bunty Sajdeh and True Palate Cafe Pvt. Ltd., Neuma has made itself a name in the fine dining world. With its colonial-era decor and hearty food options, it is an ideal Sunday brunch spot.
5. Esha Gupta's Casa Salesas
Last year, Bollywood star Esha Gupta opened her restaurant Casa Salesas in the bustling city of Madrid in Spain. With Mediterranean flavours at its heart, this venture adds her to the ever-increasing list of celebrity restaurants. Aimed to be a fine-dining experience, the restaurant is ready to serve casual diners as well.
6. Jay Mehta and Juhi Chawla's Rue de Liban and Gustoso
Bollywood actor Juhi Chawla and her husband own not one, but two restaurants. Starting with their Italian fine-dining venture, Gustoso, this Italian restaurant is known to serve wood-fired pizza, pasta and desserts and has two branches across Mumbai – in Bandra and in Kemps Corner. Their latest food venture has something to do with Lebanese cuisine. Rue de Liban by Jay Mehta and Juhi Chawla is a Mumbai-based Art Deco-themed restaurant that is inspired by Beirut's culinary scenes.
7. Jacqueline Fernandez's Kaema Sutra and Pali Thai
In her home country, Sri Lanka, Bollywood actor Jacqueline Fernandez owns a plush restaurant situated in the Shangri-La hotel in Colombo. Kaema Sutra is designated to serve Sri Lankan cuisine that heavily relies on seafood delicacies. She collaborated with Sri Lankan chef and restaurateur Dharshan Munidasa, known for Ministry of Crab. Her other restaurant credit includes Pali Thai in Bandra, Mumbai. The Art Deco restaurant serves delicious Thai food with a contemporary take.
8. Mouni Roy's Badmaash
A fusion of Indian and contemporary flavours can be found at Mouni Roy's Andheri restaurant – Badmash. Known for her acting credits across the small and big screen, the actress chose the restaurateur path in 2023 with the launch of her snazzy new Indian restaurant.
9. Ayesha Takia's Cafe Basilico
Co-owned by Bollywood actor Ayesha Takia and her husband Farhan Azmi, Cafe Basilico offers a wide range of European flavours.
