Sara Ali Khan has always had a passport that seems to be as busy as her film calendar. From chasing snow-capped peaks and turquoise waters to wandering through bustling cities and vast desert landscapes, the actor has turned travel into a collection of experiences worth remembering. Her famous Instagram travel diaries offer glimpses of a traveller who is as drawn to adventure as she is to family, food and the simple joy of discovering somewhere new. HELLO! India takes a look at the destinations that have found a special place in Sara’s travel diary.

1. Kedarnath

The place that gave Sara her debut film, Kedarnath still holds a very special place in her heart. Even seven years after the film, she continues to return, calling it “the only place that feels like home.” For Sara, a pilgrimage to the Kedarnath Temple has become an annual ritual. She is famously known for her love of the mountains, and the Vasuki Tal and Gaurikund treks in Kedarnath offer the perfect adrenaline rush she craves.

2. Croatia

Sara’s recent trip to Croatia looked like the dreamy Mediterranean getaway that suits her travel personality. It felt like the perfect carefree summer escape, with sun-kissed days, crystal-clear blue waters and plenty of pretty bikinis. Her Instagram dumps glided seamlessly between the Adriatic coastline and Croatia’s old-world streets. From charming stone lanes to plenty of food with her friends, Sara’s trip was an ideal blend of adventure and unhurried relaxation.

3. Switzerland

The Swiss sojourn brings together everything Sara Ali Khan loves about travel. Breathtaking landscapes and a touch of adventure make it an idyllic family retreat. From thrilling activities like paragliding and taking in alpine scenery to plenty of coffee stops, it is the mix of excitement and tranquillity that makes the Swiss landscape such a natural fit for her travel style.

4. Kashmir

Sara Ali Khan’s love affair with Kashmir is most certainly not just an occasional celebrity getaway. Her Instagram travel diaries have repeatedly backed up this affection, with the actor calling it “a little bit of paradise on earth.” From snowy days in Gulmarg with her family to trekking and camping in Pahalgam, and drinking chai amid the enormous mountains alongside goats and children, Kashmir is a go-to destination that Sara keeps longing for.

5. London

London has become a recurring stop in Sara’s travel diary. From leisurely walks through Mayfair and Kensington to theatre outings, coffee breaks and, most importantly, plenty of family time, the city is as much about creating lasting memories for her as it is about exploring. London is also a favourite getaway for Sara and her father, Saif Ali Khan, making the city particularly special to her.

6. New York

Sara just can’t seem to stay away from this city. Having called New York home during her college years at Columbia University, the city carries some of her most nostalgic memories from those three years. Even now, the actor keeps returning to those familiar streets, revisiting old haunts, shopping and taking strolls around Central Park and Brooklyn, making New York one of her favourite cities.

7. Maldives

Sara Ali Khan might have visited the Maldives with her family, but she still counts it as one of the most romantic destinations. Her Maldives diaries are a postcard of deep-sea diving, jet-skiing and sunset swims. Between diving into turquoise waters, chasing sunsets and lounging by the sea with friends and family, the Maldives offers her the perfect blend of sun-soaked adventures and a quiet escape, perhaps explaining why she keeps finding her way back.

8. AlUla, Saudi Arabia

AlUla might seem like an offbeat travel destination, but Sara seems to relish exploring it. The destination combines serene landscapes, sun-soaked glamour and endless golden desert landscapes. Sara appears to enjoy cycling through the unusual terrain rather than simply sightseeing. The sheer otherworldliness of AlUla makes the destination hard to forget.

9. Manali

For Sara, Manali brings out her playful and carefree side. Her travel diary is filled with roadside bites, steaming coffee, mountain parathas and impromptu moments against snowy landscapes. For her, the destination is less polished and more of a spontaneous escape, from wandering through the snow to visiting Balaji Mahadev. It is these simple pleasures that keep Manali close to her heart.

10. Gokyo Lake, Nepal

Though not yet explored, Nepal remains on Sara’s bucket list, especially a trek to Gokyo Lake. As a mountain lover and adventure enthusiast, this high-altitude trail is exactly the kind of experience that appeals to her. She has also singled out the Annapurna Base Camp trek as another adventure she would like to undertake.

For Sara Ali Khan, travel seems less about collecting destinations and more about collecting memories. From the snow-dusted landscapes of Kashmir to the crystal-clear waters of the Maldives, Sara has covered it all. Each destination brings its own distinct sense of escapism, whether it is the thrill of the mountains, the romance of the sea or the charm of a new city, and it is this variety that she seems to adore.
