Selena Gomez never attended prom so Benny Blanco threw one for her

Imagine if your partner made his birthday all about you. For Selena Gomez, that's not wishful thinking. The pop star's fiancé, Benny Blanco, threw her a party for his birthday. To celebrate his 37th birthday on March 8, 2025, the Hollywood song producer threw a prom-themed party. Why? Because his fiancée never got to attend prom when she was young, as the former Disney star had completed high school via homeschooling. 

"Selena had never been to a prom before, so I thought I’d throw us a prom for my birthday," revealed Blanco on The Kate Hudson Show. Blanco himself attended prom twice and felt like his fiancée needed to experience the special night as well. The couple recently released their album I Said I Love You First, with an evident look of love on their faces when they posed for the photos; which was seen on a new reel posted by Benny Blanco on his Instagram page. 

In the reel, Benny revealed how he planned his prom-themed birthday party for his fiancée from scratch. He stated, "My fiancée has never been to prom before so I asked her if we should take prom photos together at a mall." We see Selena getting ready for prom pics while Benny brings around a limo to drive them down to the mall to take the pictures. Get set for the pictures that roll in at the end of the reel as they are the cutest thing you will see on the internet all weekend long. 

The photoshoot saw Selena and Benny posing for cute pictures together; ticking off prom from Selena's missed high-school experiences. Along with the photoshoot, the party itself was fully reminiscent of a prom event, complete with foil balloons and sparkling decor. And yes, he also got her a corsage. 

For the occasion, Selena was dressed in a high-low pink ballgown which, according to Page Six, was by Oscar de la Renta and was worth $11,000, which is approximately Rs 9,30,000. She wore black tights along with the voluminous skirt dress and carried a black fur coat over her arms. A black string choker adorned her neck while she opted for a pink lip and light pink eyeshadow for makeup. Blanco was dressed in a classic black tux, keeping it simple and elegant.
