Anne Hathaway has long been thought of as a highly chic actress. That was the case when she won hearts and the stamp of sartorial approval for her turn as the Princess of Genovia back in the early 2000s. It continued well into the years since, for her appearances at celebrity parties and fashion weeks until date.
The Hollywood A-lister recently attended designer Ralph Lauren’s Fall 2025 showcase titled The Modern Romantics, which celebrated toasty tones and earthy shades in regal drapes and layered looks. Along with celebrities like Sadie Sink and Sarah Catherine Hook, Anne Hathaway arrived on the scene in spotlight-stealing ensemble. She layered a white tank top and glittering beige distressed trousers with a flowing trench coat and paired it with heels, warm gold jewellery and a metallic clutch.
A marvellous outfit, no doubt but what grabbed the attention of fashion mavens everywhere was her hairstyle at play. Anne wore her glossy black hair into a precisely pulled-back ponytail that sat high on the back of her crown and fell stunningly past her shoulders. We know what you’re thinking; it’s just a ponytail. But really, it’s not. The scientifically slick form of the base with not a strand out of place and the optimum height of the tail have made it a work of inspiration for ponytail-lovers and hairstylists everywhere.
The very nature of a ponytail allows it to be; well, a tail to steer clear of the face. Not only does this make it ideal for gym routines and busy days, it also allows the visage to take centre-stage so you better make sure your face is looking its radiant best. Anne made sure hers did. Her brown-toned lids with full lashes, full brows, peach cheeks and a matching lip looked nothing less than divine. Here’s where her ponytail swung in. Its pulled-back style created a face-lifting look, which gave Anne a sculpted face that was perfectly contoured as it met her hairline.
Most ponytails might be just another hairstyle but Anne’s certainly was not. Not only did it thrust the spotlight on her face, it also led to the belief that maybe; just maybe, it can give you a slimmer and trimmer look? While we can’t be sure Mrs. Hathaway’s hairdo alone is the secret to the fabulous face, it’s sure worth a try the next time you fancy tying your hair up.
