The world is turning to Ayurvedic solutions, but in India, we continue to embrace what was always ours. Kama Ayurveda's new Sandanya range is the best example of reinvention and innovation within the Ayurvedic spectrum. An ode to clarity, balance and skin that radiates from within, the formulations remain rooted in tradition and efficacy. This ethos perfectly aligns with its newest ambassador, Mahieka Sharma, model, actress and Ayurvedic beauty advocate, who embodies a refreshed approach to beauty, backed by traditional Indian techniques.
The new range is the brand's first-ever anti-blemish skincare collection. Powered by Indian liquorice, the range is tested on all skin types, including sensitive ones, and aims to deliver visible transformation without compromising the skin barrier. Effortlessly blending modern minimalism and traditional Ayurvedic wisdom, Mahieka Sharma opens up about her experience with the collection, her evolving skincare philosophy and the rituals she swears by for luminous, healthy skin in this candid conversation with HELLO! India.
HELLO! India: As the face of Kama Ayurveda’s Sandanya range, what was your first reaction when you tried the products? Do you have a favourite already?
Mahieka Sharma: Absolutely blown away. I had the chance to try the range before we began shooting, and the products are truly incredible. My personal favourite has to be the Purifying Fresh Serum—it’s beautifully weightless and absorbs effortlessly into the skin.

HELLO! India: Sandanya draws from Ayurvedic rituals focused on balance and clarity. Are there any traditional skincare practices you’ve grown up with or still follow?
Definitely. Hair oiling is something I’ve grown up with and still love. And during winters, I swear by applying ghee on my lips—it’s simple but incredibly effective.
HELLO! India: As a model, your skin is always in focus. How do you deal with breakouts or bad skin days, especially before a shoot?
I’ve learned that less is more. The more you pick at your skin or overload it with products, the worse it gets. I keep things simple and rely on high-quality products that soothe rather than aggravate my skin. During the day, I use the Sandanya Purifying Fresh Serum, and at night, the Blemish Clarifying Dry Facial Oil. And honestly, good sleep is just as important.
HELLO! India: The collection focuses on achieving a natural, healthy glow. What does “good skin” mean to you today versus when you started modelling?
Today, good skin means hydrated, supple, and truly healthy skin—something that glows from within. Earlier, I may have focused more on surface-level results, but now I understand that consistency and a calming routine using quality products make all the difference.
HELLO! India: With a life that balances travel, shoots, and downtime, how has your skincare routine evolved?
It’s changed a lot. I used to believe that more products meant better results, but now I know that’s not the case. I trust fewer, high-quality ingredients and take a more holistic approach. It’s not about quick fixes anymore—it’s about long-term care. That’s exactly why I resonate with the Sandanya range.
