10+ Celebrities who found love after they turned 50

We often associate teenage and early 20s and 30s as phases for dating and forming romantic relationships. There is an expectation for most people to settle down into permanent partnerships with their partners by their late 20s and early 30s. Dating post this stage comes with its own set of stigmas and questions like “Why are you still single?” or “Are you unable to find anyone to date?”. It's not an easy task to tackle the societal expectations if you defy these standards, but there are many reasons why people date beyond their 30s and well into their 50s; from choosing relationships when they are emotionally good and ready for a commitment or entering into them once they are financially stable.

1. Elizabeth Hurley and Billy Ray Cyrus 

Take Elisabeth Hurley and Billy Ray Cyrus, for example. The two made an appearance at Fondazione Valentino Garavani and Giancarlo Giammetti, hosted by Giancarlo  himself. The model, who recently blew out the candles at her 60th birthday party, walked in with Billy Ray Cyrus, after confirming their relationship this Easter 2025. She opened up about her relationship to Page Six, saying, "We both like to laugh a lot, and we both love the country, And we both love country music, both love movies." She jokingly added, "We’ve got a lot in common – and cowboy boots, definitely." 

2. Aamir Khan 

Another actor who recently opened up about finding love when dating later in life is Bollywood perfectionist, Aamir Khan. The actor, who was has been divorced twice, is now dating Gauri Spratt. He recently opened about his relationship with his new girlfriend on a podcast with Raj Shaman, saying, “Before I met Gauri, I felt like I had aged and who will I find in this age. That time I even told my friends that I had two very strong, deep relationships with Kiran and Reena and we are close till date and we still respect each other. I never thought I would meet anyone with whom I can bond this way."

He further emphasised the need of loving yourself first, and said, "My therapy started and I understood that I need to make myself healthy and love myself first, self love and self respect."  The actor still shares a deep connection with both his ex-wives and the mothers of his children, saying that "they are always going to be (Aamir's) family"

3. Hrithik Roshan

Another Bollywood actor who lucked out in love is Hrithik Roshan. The actor was formerly married to Sussane Khan and shares two kids with her. They divorced in 2014, and recently, he found stability with Saba Azad. The two made it official back in 2022 and have since been spotted publicly on multiple occasions and travelled together.

4. George Clooney

Another successful relationship that came to fruition in one’s 50s was that of George and Amal Clooney. The actor married the human rights lawyer when he was 53 and she was 35. 

6. Milind Soman

Milind Soman met Ankita Konwar in 2014 and later, tied the knot in April of 2018 when he was 52 and she was just 26; but their age gap never felt like a barrier to either of them. "He taught me to let go, to fall in love, to be happy," said Konwar, in an Instagram post, while opening up about falling for the model.

7.  Madonna 

The queen of pop, Madonna, opened up about dating in her 50s to Harper's Bazaar USA in 2017, saying, "I believe in freedom of expression; I don’t believe in censorship. I believe in equal rights for all people. And I believe women should own their sexuality and sexual expression. I don’t believe there’s a certain age where you can’t say and feel and be who you want to be.” 

8. Arjun Rampal

Arjun Rampal has discussed his early marriage, divorce and finding love later in life. He opened up about his divorce on the BeerBiceps podcast; saying, "whatever happened in my life was meant to happen." He found happiness with Gabriella Demetriades, who he says he is "mentally married" to even though the pair is yet to tie the knot. On his relationship status, the Om Shanti Om actor, said, "Marriage is just a piece of paper" and that the couple were happy in their current engagement.  

9. ⁠Hugh Jackman 

Hugh Jackman dipped his toes into the dating pool once again after turning 50. The Wolverine actor started dating broadway actress Sutton Foster in January, 2025. Hugh was 27 when he married Deborra-Lee, who was 40 at the time. They parted ways in 2023. The actor's grey divorce left him single at the age of 50 and he has, since then, taken an open approach to dating.

10. Jeff Bezos and Lauren Sanchez

Jeff Bezos, at 61, is currently engaged to be married to Lauren Sanchez, who is 55. Both celebrities are dating in their 50s and definitely not shying away from it. The two initially took things slow, as they started dating not so long after Bezos ended his first marriage to MacKenzie Scott while Sanchez finalised her divorce from Patrick Whitesell. “Both Jeff and Lauren have been focused on their kids for the last several months,” reported a source close to them, to People Magazine. "Any relationship had to be on the back burner for that reason. Now that each has reached a divorce settlement, they thought the time was right to finally date like regular people." The two are set to tie the knot in Italy this year.

Apart from them, celebrities like Richard Gere, Jada Pinkett, Tilda Swinton, and Hugh Grant have all found love or are dating in the latter part of their lives. 

Whether one is dating with true love in mind or as a form of sexual expression, dating does not end in the 30s. Finding love, dating and reigniting the spark are very much possible even beyond your 50s.
