From a chance encounter to a celebrity romance: Everything you need to know about Dua Lipa and Callum Turner's relationship

The rumours of Dua Lipa finding love in Callum Turner first started in January 2024, when the two celebrities were spotted together at the afterparty of the Apple TV+ series Masters of the Air premiere. They didn't leave much to speculation; as soon, they were seen together in many paparazzi shots and PDA filled dates. “Yeah, we’re engaged,” confirmed Dua Lipa recently, during an interview for British Vogue, as she recounted her story about meeting her now-fiancé for the first time. “It’s very exciting!” the young pop star exclaimed, on her engagement status. She further went on to talk about it, saying, “This decision to grow old together, to see a life and just, I don’t know, be best friends forever – it’s a really special feeling.” Keep scrolling for to know how the pair went from their first date to being engaged. 

1. Chance meeting and rumours 

Dua first met Callum at The River Cafe in London, where they were introduced by the restaurant’s co-founder, Ruth Rogers; she told British Vogue in the same interview. This was much before she started dating him. The rumours about Dua and Callum started after the two were spotted slow dancing at the afterparty of Masters of the Air premiere posted by TMZ. Lipa recently recounted that the two ran into each other in LA when she was having dinner with a friend. He asked her what book she was reading, and it turned out, he was reading the same book at the time. That made Lipa think that they were “one thousand per cent” destined to be together.

2. Date nights and pap shots 

Shortly after the rumours were sparked, paparazzi pictures of the two casually dining in Santa Monica went viral; adding fuel to the fire. More paparazzi shots of the two emerged from the couple's date night in Hollywood; snaps which saw Turner and Lipa affectionately smiling, kissing and embracing each other, thus putting the rumours to rest.   

3. In the mood to party

Turner and Lipa were then spotted attending Grammys, BAFTAs and Brit awards after-parties together. Most pictures that emerged saw the two lovebirds attending the events hand-in-hand while wearing co-ordinated outfits, providing plenty of fodder for their fans and press alike.

It didn't take long for Lipa to give her relationship the Instagram seal of approval after taking her relationship public. She shared a photo of Turner and herself embracing, while walking down the street in coordinating leather jackets in May 2024. She captioned the post as, “Sunshineeeeeee :)))))”  

5. Fun dates 

Lipa and Turner enjoyed a romantic breakfast in Los Angeles, as published by the Daily Mail. The two were all smiles as they gazed lovingly into each other’s eyes at a restaurant, and later embarked on a stroll, walking hip-to-hip with Turner’s arm around Lipa in the March of 2024. In June 2024, the couple were spotted in New York; this time getting ice-cream.

6. Christmas time 

Dua spent her last Christmas with Turner and shared an Instagram dump for the same; one of the photos included a selfie of herself and Turner in a car. In the snap, the two smiled widely. She captioned the post, "Home for the holidays ❣️ sending you all so much love.” 

7. Paris images and engagement rumours 

2025 saw Lipa and Turner locking lips in front of the Eiffel tower while attending Paris Fashion Week. Dua then teased a potential engagement as she posted an image of herself wearing a chunky diamond ring. Neither of them made a comment about the status of their relationship for months. On June 12, 2025, news of the engagement spread as Lipa confirmed her new relationship status and talked marriage for her cover shot interview with British Vogue. 

8. Met gala official 

The two walked the red carpet and made their Met Gala debut in 2025, dressed in matching black couture. Dua Lipa wore a custom Chanel dress. The dress, which took over 2,000 hours to create, featured a custom open-back chiffon gown with a long bow at the back, a black sequin tweed jacket, and an organza cape. All three elements were adorned with crystals, pearls, and feathers. Turner donned a bespoke Louis Vuitton suit, being the house's ambassador. The suit had a hand-embroidered Damier cravat, for the Black Dandyism theme of the 2025 Met Gala.
