Beyond the appreciation of cinema from all across the globe, the Cannes Film Festival is a well-known spectacle for fashion lovers. Trends straight off the runway parade on the red carpet, while being worn by some of the most notable faces of international cinema. This year, the organisers decided to switch things up at the very last minute and they introduced a dress code to avoid nudity and elaborate gowns for the entire 10-day duration of the event, right before the festival. However, that didn't deter celebrities from walking down the eponymous red carpet, putting their most fashionable feet forward. On day 5 of the festival, celebrities continue to make a mark in their sophisticated outfits and Team HELLO! has some favourites.
1. Rosie Huntington-Whiteley
The model was a scarlet sensation dressed to impress in a strapless number from Balenciaga. The dress effortlessly wraps around her svelte figure with a long trail that doubles up as a scarf. She accessorised red carpet ensemble with a stunning diamond jewellery set that complements every inch of her overall look. Her hair was dressed in a sleek bun and her makeup kept classic with a feline eyeliner and a ruby red lip.
2. Veena Pravaneer Singh
The viral Indian-Thai model was seen at the premiere of Nouvelle Vague at the ongoing Cannes Film Festival in a white cutout gown. Her toned, washboard abs were accessories enough but the sequinned embellishments around the cutout elements were a chic addition too. In case she needed any to begin with, the ensemble is completed with diamonds galore on her neck, fingers, wrists and ears.
3. Zoey Deutch
The old-world Hollywood vibes have never looked more immaculate than when Zoey Deutch walked down the Cannes Film Festival red carpet for the premiere Nouvelle Vague. She wore a tiered white halter neckline complete with a tulle peplum hem at the waist. She paired a drop necklace with her dress but the real highlight was in the way she styled her hair and kept her makeup. A classic wavy long bob swept to the side for the hair and a winged eyeliner with a red lip round off her ensemble.
4. Philippine Leroy-Beaulieu
In contrast to the red carpet favourite monotones, the Emily In Paris actress went for a play of colours in a column gown. The strapless gown is a colourblock one with an artistic display of warm shades of deep red and amber. The silhouette and choice of colours brought two interesting trends to the forefront. To avoid drifting attention from her uniquely sophisticated ensemble, she went with red drop earrings and nothing else for accessories.
5. Jennifer Lawrence
A picture of elegance in white, Jennifer Lawrence looked breathtaking in a custom Dior strapless gown on the red carpet. The voluminous gown was beautiful from every angle with its multiple pleated layers and especially when styled with a sleek low bun and minimalistic makeup, the impact was felt far and wide.
6. Barbara Palvin
The Victoria's Secret model didn't shy away from volume but in a different way. The model wore a pastel pink satin gown with an off-shoulder sweetheart neckline. Since all the drama came from her outfit, she chose to complement it with a sleek bun and no jewellery, wearing her confidence as her most sparkling accessory.
