Emmys 2026: Selena Gomez creates 24K magic in a gold Louis Vuitton gown

If something felt most glamourous, more refined and more rarified at today's 2026 Emmys, Selena Gomez was the reason behind it. The 78th Primetime Emmy Awards, which took place at Los Angeles' Peacock Theater, saw the starriest of the American television world being honoured with the likes of Widow’s Bay, DTF St. Louis and The Pitt being amongst the biggest winners of the night. Actress-slash-entrepreneur-slash-musician-slash-multi-tasker Selena Gomez attended the celebrity-studded event as a cast member and producer of Only Murders in the Building, which lost the award to Widow’s Bay. However where Gomez did win big was in praises for her red carpet choice of the night.

As Bruno Mars' popular song goes, there was "24-karat magic in the air" at the Emmy awards 2026 when Selena Gomez walked into the room wearing a gilded chainmail gown to make a dramatic metallic statement on the red carpet. The sculptural gold gown by Louis Vuitton featured a straight strapless neckline with gold panels with interwoven gold panels leading to spiral detailing on either side of her bodice, which finally led to a sculpted mermaid silhouette at its length. The figure-skimming silhouette wrapped around her body, creating an almost-liquid effect as it moved.

Keeping all of the focus on the gown, Gomez kept the rest of her choices understand. Her diamond jewellery of drop earrings, a bracelet and rings were by Tiffany & Co. jewellery and were all she picked by way of accessories. Selena's understated makeup featured her signature soap-style brows with coral-toned cheeks and a matching pop of colour on her lips while her brunette locks were worn in softly styled waves which were pushed back. The result was polished, with the reflective gold taking centre stage.

The Emmy awards also are particularly special for the star as her husband Benny Blanco (who skipped the event this time around) and her made their red carpet as a couple last year. Selena Gomez doesn't need much else to make 24K magic happen—just herself and a stunning statement gown.
