From elaborate banana leaf feasts and traditional Sadhyas to Kerala-inspired brunches and regional thalis, restaurants across India are embracing the spirit of Onam with thoughtfully curated menus this August. Taking place between 16 and 31 August 2026, these celebrations bring together age-old recipes, seasonal ingredients and the warmth of communal dining, offering diners an opportunity to experience one of Kerala's most cherished festivals through food.

1. Banana Leaf, Mumbai

Banana Leaf's much-loved Onam Sadhya returns to Mumbai on 26 and 27 August with a traditional feast featuring more than 25 Kerala delicacies. Served on a banana leaf, the spread includes classics such as Avial, Olan, Kootu Curry, Sambar, Rasam and an assortment of traditional Payasams, capturing the abundance and togetherness that define the festival.

2. HOSA, Goa

One of Goa's most anticipated Onam celebrations, HOSA's annual Sadhya returns on 26 August with an elaborate banana leaf lunch curated by Chef Harish Rao. The vegetarian feast features traditional dishes such as Puli Inji, Erissery, Olan, Avial, Ulli Theeyal and Kerala Red Rice, ending with Semiya Payasam and Palada Pradhaman. Guests can also explore an à la carte menu of Kerala's celebrated non-vegetarian dishes, including Meen Moilee, Alleppey Prawn Curry and Mutton Ularthiyathu.

3. Atmanam, Gurugram

Atmanam celebrates Onam with a traditional Sadhya that showcases Kerala's culinary heritage through an extensive spread of accompaniments, curries, rice preparations and desserts. Served on a banana leaf, the feast brings together favourites such as Kalan, Olan, Avial, Pulissery and Thoran, followed by Parippu Pradhaman and Palada Payasam. The experience is available across the restaurant's Gurugram outlets.

4. South of Vindhyas, The Orchid Hotel, Mumbai

Available from 22 to 26 August, South of Vindhyas continues its 25-year-old Onam tradition with the Adipoli Onam Sadhya. The celebration features more than 56 traditional preparations, ranging from savouries such as Avial, Olan, Erissery and Ulli Theeyal to a selection of Pradhamams, Payasams and Kerala sweets. Festive décor and floral arrangements further enhance the immersive experience.

5. Taj Malabar Resort & Spa, Cochin

Set against the backdrop of Cochin Harbour, Taj Malabar Resort & Spa transforms Onam into a waterfront celebration of Kerala's culture and cuisine. Guests can explore specially curated menus at Pepper and Rice Boat, alongside immersive experiences that include sunset cruises, traditional games and heritage-inspired activities. The celebration brings together food, hospitality and Kerala's coastal charm in one festive setting.

6. OMO, Gurugram

OMO's annual Sadya returns on 29 and 30 August, staying remarkably faithful to tradition while introducing subtle, ingredient-led touches. The menu preserves the classic structure of a Kerala Sadhya while incorporating seasonal produce such as fiddlehead ferns, Manipuri queen pineapple and Kashmiri plums. Dishes including Kurukku Kalan, Olan, Avial and Pineapple Pulisherry reflect a menu rooted in memory rather than reinvention.

7. Kalpaney, Bengaluru

On 26 August, Kalpaney brings an authentic Onam celebration to Bengaluru with a traditional Sadhya featuring more than 25 dishes. Prepared according to customary serving traditions, the feast balances sweet, sour, spicy and bitter flavours through preparations such as Kaalan, Olan, Avial, Koottu Curry, Erissery and Parippu Curry, before concluding with Palada Payasam and Parippu Pradhaman.

8. The Aviary, JW Marriott Bengaluru Prestige Golfshire Resort & Spa, Bengaluru

On 26 August, The Aviary at JW Marriott Bengaluru Prestige Golfshire Resort & Spa hosts an immersive Onam celebration featuring a traditional Sadhya, Kathakali performances, festive décor and cultural experiences. Set amid the resort's lush surroundings, the event brings together Kerala's culinary heritage and cultural traditions in a picturesque setting.

9. Dakshinayan, Mumbai and Ahmedabad

From 25 to 30 August, Dakshinayan marks Onam with a festive Semiya Payasam across all its outlets. A staple of every traditional Sadhya, the dessert combines roasted vermicelli, milk, coconut, ghee and nuts, celebrating the nostalgia and comfort associated with Kerala's harvest festival.

10. HyLo, Mumbai

On 26 August, HyLo in Kala Ghoda presents a traditional sit-down Sadhya that remains firmly rooted in Kerala's culinary customs. The menu moves through a generous selection of pickles, curries, rice dishes and desserts, including Pazham Pulissery, Avial, Vada Kootu Curry, Ada Pradhaman and Parippu Pradhaman. Served across two leisurely sittings, the experience focuses on abundance and communal dining.

11. Gourami, Mumbai

Celebrating Onam for the first time, Gourami introduces an authentic Kerala Sadhya on 25 and 26 August. Featuring more than 25 traditional vegetarian dishes served on a plantain leaf, the meal follows Kerala's customary sequence, bringing together all six tastes through preparations such as Puli Inji, Avial, Olan, Koottu Curry, Rasam and Palada Pradhaman.

12. Jamavar and Citrus, The Leela Mumbai

The Leela Mumbai celebrates Onam through two distinct dining experiences centred around Kerala's culinary traditions. At Jamavar, guests can enjoy specially curated vegetarian and non-vegetarian Sadhya menus on 26 August, featuring dishes such as Kumarakom Fish Curry, Chicken Ghee Roast, Avial and Kalan, alongside classic Payasams. At Citrus, a celebratory Onam brunch on the date  features an abundant spread inspired by the harvest season. Alongside signature favourites, guests can enjoy interactive live stations serving Appam with Vegetable Stew, Dosa with Sambar and an assortment of chutneys, as well as Egg Roast. 

13. Dakshin, ITC Grand Central, Mumbai

From 16 to 26 August, Dakshin at ITC Grand Central serves a festive Sadhya that honours Kerala's culinary traditions through an elaborate banana leaf feast. The menu includes Sambaram, Payar Thoran, Kootu Curry, Olan, Erissery, Kaita Chakka Pachadi and Palada Payasam, showcasing the balance and abundance associated with the festival.

14. Renaissance Bengaluru Race Course Hotel

Available from 17 to 31 August, the Kerala Thali at Renaissance Bengaluru Race Course Hotel offers a regional dining experience that extends beyond the traditional Sadhya. The menu features both vegetarian and non-vegetarian options, highlighting dishes such as Kumbalanga Moru Curry, Olan, Kozhi Varutharacha Curry and Kochi-style Mathi Curry.

15. Seasonal Tastes, The Westin Hyderabad Mindspace, Hyderabad

Seasonal Tastes celebrates Onam from 23 to 26 August with a series of festive experiences, including a dedicated Onam brunch, lunch and dinner. Alongside traditional Kerala dishes and desserts, the restaurant will incorporate festive décor inspired by pookalam, creating a warm and celebratory atmosphere.

16. Grand Mercure Bangalore, Bengaluru

On 26 August 2026, Grand Mercure Bangalore brings the warmth and nostalgia of a traditional Kerala Sadya to Koramangala with a festive lunch that celebrates the flavours, generosity and togetherness at the heart of Onam. The menu begins with Carrot Koshambari and Sweet Corn Pomegranate Koshambari, followed by Pineapple Pachadi, Inji Puli and Mango Pickle. The main spread features favourites such as Avial and Cabbage Thoran, accompanied by Puliyogare Rice, Rasam and Poori. Traditional accompaniments like Nendran Chips and Sakkara Uppari add texture to the meal, while Holige and Ada Pradhaman, provide a satisfying finale.

17. Fifty Five East, Grand Hyatt Mumbai

On 23 August 2026, Fifty Five East at Grand Hyatt Mumbai will host a traditional Kerala Sadhya curated by Chef Sinu and Yogita Uchil. Served through an intimate table-service format across two seatings at 12:30 pm and 2:00 pm, the vegetarian feast will feature an array of Kerala favourites, including Avial, Thoran, Olan, Erissery, Sambar, Rasam and Pulissery. Presented on traditional banana leaves, the experience promises an authentic celebration of Onam in the heart of Mumbai.

18. Miri, The St. Regis Goa Resort

Miri at The St. Regis Goa Resort is marking Onam with a traditional Sadhya on August 26, 2026. Curated by the resort's culinary team, the one-day dining experience will showcase Kerala's culinary heritage through an elaborate vegetarian feast served on banana leaves, complemented by festive décor, a floral Pookalam display and a family-style dining experience designed to celebrate the harvest festival.

19. Nadoo, GK and Gurugram

Nadoo celebrates Onam with a traditional 29-item vegetarian Onasadya, available from August 23–26 at its GK and Gurgaon outlets. Served exclusively at lunch across two seatings, the feast brings together matta rice, parippu with ghee, sambar, rasam, avial, olan, kootukari, erissery, pulissery, kalan, pachadi, kichadi and beans thoran. Highlights include GI-tagged Marayoor jaggery in jaggery-based dishes, alongside ada pradhaman, godhuma pradhaman and Nadoo’s signature inji puli.

20. Dakshin Canteen, Lajpat Nagar and Gurugram

Celebrate Onam at Dakshin Canteen with an authentic Sadya served from September 3–5, 2025. The elaborate vegetarian feast features Kerala classics including avial, olan and festive payasam, served traditionally on banana leaves. Limited to 16 seats per session, the intimate experience brings together seasonal ingredients, culinary heritage and the communal spirit of Onam.

21. Jugnu, Goa 

Jugnu Goa welcomes Onam with a special Kerala Sadhya on August 26, 2026, served against the heritage backdrop of its 180-year-old Portuguese villa in Assagao. The vegetarian feast features Kerala favourites including parippu, sambar, avial, rasam, kootu curry, thoran, pineapple and beetroot pachadi, alongside matta rice, ney, pappadam and traditional accompaniments. Parippu vadai, upperi and semiya payasam complete the festive spread.
