Bhumi Pednekar has had quite the wellness journey. After her success in her Bollywood debut, Dum Laga Ke Haisha, where she gained weight to play the lead actress, Pednekar then had to work hard to fit in the mould and traditional standards of a conventional actress, which she achieved with the help of a well-rounded wellness routine. Years after the film, Pednekar makes sure she prioritises her physical, emotional, and mental wellness with a number of daily routines and simple wellness tricks that she shares with HELLO!

"We always look out for clean, organic produce''

While there may be multiple ways to keep fit, food plays the most important role in all of it. Prioritising what she eats has helped Bhumi keep her life low-maintenance, and good quality produce does the trick for the actress.

"Staying hydrated is a big part of how I function"

From fitness coaches to dermatologists to family doctors to our mothers, the most common solution to almost all of our problems from them all is to stay hydrated. Pednekar follows that religiously as she says she never leaves home without water, whether her day is packed and she is "headed to a shoot, the gym, or a meeting."  For her, hydration is the best way to take care of herself. "It helps me feel refreshed, keeps my skin healthy, and honestly, it’s one of the simplest ways I take care of myself every day," adds Bhumi.

"Just a moment to breathe and set my intentions"

The best way to stay healthy and fit consistently is to turn to good habits and daily rituals. For Pednekar, it starts with simple breath work and setting intentions for the day. "My mornings are super important to me," says the 36-year-old actress.  She starts every morning without a phone or any other external noise that might disrupt her day, and instead turns to meditation for quiet time. Bhumi likes to start her day right with "a quick stretch or movement session." She opts for warm water with lemon to help her feel centred before the day takes over.

"I surround myself with people who keep me grounded"

Physical health is simply not enough to feel your best self as emotional and mental well-being is just as important to contribute to overall health. Pednekar ensures she nurtures her mental and emotional well-being by surrounding herself with the right people. She also incorporates specific practices such as journaling, which are "a powerful tool" for her. Pednekar, who relies on feeling interconnected, says," I check in with myself often. I also rely on breathwork and meditation when I feel overwhelmed."
