At the OMEGA Trophy, Abhishek Bachchan gets candid with HELLO! India

Marking the fourth consecutive edition of the annual tournament, the event brought together golfers from various states, celebrating skill, sportsmanship and camaraderie. This Fourth Edition reinforces the brand’s longstanding relationship with golf, supporting the sport’s growth while celebrating precision and performance on the course. Launched to champion golf excellence around the world, the tournament creates an annual gathering where the nation’s golfing community competes for recognition within OMEGA’s international golf family.

Becoming a fixture on India’s luxury sporting calendar, the evening was graced by the luminary presence of not only actress Mandira Bedi but also the friend of the brand and bollywood icon, Abhishek Bachchan. Style, an underlying characteristic that defines both the superstar and the brand, is marked by their pursuit of evolution and refinement. “I think my love for suits came from my father,” he shares, recalling the elegance of Amitabh Bachchan’s tailored silhouettes. “I used to see him wear beautiful suits when I was a kid.” While coming to the topic of timekeeping itself, he believes that one “should look for several things while buying a watch — the different complications, how accurate it is, and what kind of resale does it have,” as according to him, the beauty of watchmaking lies in the multiple facets that it offers. 

Thoughtful yet discerning, Bachchan believes a timepiece must carry meaning. “An OMEGA needs to be earned,” he said, revealing that if he were to give one, it might be his vintage 1934 OMEGA Army watch to his nephew Agastya Nanda. 

As the evening came to an end over the DLF Golf and Country Club, the OMEGA Trophy 2025 proved to transcend beyond a mere tournament to a celebration of excellence. In bringing together India’s golfing community, OMEGA once again reinforced its reputation as both a watchmaker and a patron of sportsmanship.
