For many young girls, borrowing from their mother’s closets is almost a rite of passage. It’s that precocious time of their lives when they are experimenting with facets of their personality that might shape what they become as adults. It turns out that’s a streak prevalent in Priyanka Chopra and Nick Jonas’ daughter, Malti Marie, as well.
The international actress, who is currently on a press tour for her upcoming film, Heads of State, made an appearance on Good Morning America. In the interaction, Priyanka revealed that 3-year-old Malti Marie might just be following in her mother’s very fashionable footsteps.
Priyanka said, “She’s such a girly-girl. She loves princesses, she loves coming into my closet (and) wearing my shoes (and) seeing my dresses. She was with us when we were getting dressed for the Met Gala. She put on my shoes and my hat. (Malti) said, “Mama and Gaga are going to a ball like Cinderella”. As her heart seemingly turned into a puddle with her daughter’s comments, Priyanka added, “Yes, we kind of are!”, also clarifying that Malti refers to her father, Nick with the adorable nickname, Gaga and to his band, The Jonas Brothers, as the Doughnut Brothers.
Young Malti is firmly by her parents’ side, be it for her dad’s concerts or her mom’s movie shoots. At the film’s New York premiere, Priyanka told E! that, “We were on location in Provence, and while she was on set she and her grandma would go to this bakery to get croissants and bring them home. She had the most amazing time while we were filming this movie.”
