Beyond the appreciation of cinema from all across the globe, the Cannes Film Festival is a well-known spectacle for fashion lovers. Trends straight off the runway parade on the red carpet, while being worn by some of the most notable faces of international cinema. This year, the organisers decided to switch things up at the very last minute and they introduced a dress code to avoid nudity and elaborate gowns for the entire 10-day duration of the event, right before the festival. However, that didn't deter celebrities from walking down the eponymous red carpet, putting their most fashionable feet forward. On day 2 of the festival, celebrities continue to make a mark in their sophisticated outfits and Team HELLO! has some favourites.

1. Tom Cruise

Ahead of Mission Impossible - The Final Reckoning releasing across the world, Hollywood action star Tom Cruise touched down at the Cannes Film Festival in a striking monochrome burgundy look. He wore a woven collared short sleeve t-shirt with trousers in the same hue and brogues and sunglasses to seal the deal.

2. Eva Longoria

Sequins seem to have taken a sartorial soft spot for Eva Longoria. Strutting the red carpet on the second day of the 78th annual Cannes Film Festival, she donned a deep, electric teal gown. With a deep back and halter neck cross neckline punctuating the dress, the silhouette wrapped around her torso tightly, complimenting her physique. Completing the look with a tied-up bun and emerald earrings, she kept her make-up subtle, allowing her attire to do the talking.

3. Heidi Klum

Heidi Klum loves her trails and we are here for it. On the second day, she chose an off-shoulder, sequined chrome gown accompanied with a small trail. Sculpting around her body, the fully embroidered mermaid gown from the ‘The 1001 Seasons of Elie Saab’ collection, featured sheer alternating lines that followed the length of the silhouette. Dazzling a deep neck line, she matched her eyes to the attire with a sparkling silver, while keeping her lips bare and hair in soft curls.

4. Andie MacDowell

Making a case for genderless fashion, Andie MacDowell stuck to the theme and how! Suited up in a black two-piece blazer and pants set with a plain white shirt underneath, she walked the carpet with a brimming smile and unnerving confidence. Accessorising with a black bow, silver embellished heels and a classy hair updo, she owned the spotlight with minimal, yet assertive clothing. She carried a matching clutch with a silver embellished brooch in the middle.

5. Angela Bassett

The Mission Impossible cast have each taken up the charge of delivering a sartorial slice that resounds their own, unique identities. Delivering a powerful statement, Angela Bassett wore a pearl embellished cape and pant set from Yara Shoemaker, paired with a white, body hugging top and silver heels. Accessorising with Terzihan earrings and a Giovanni Ferraris Gioielli necklace that she wore in two layers, she was styled by Jennifer Austin.

6. Hannah Waddingham

Exuding an undeniable flamboyance, Hannah Waddingham walked down the Cannes red carpet in an off-shoulder, pleated, pastel long midi dress that was followed by a trail. Keeping her look clean, she donned a diamond necklace, bracelet and earrings that complemented the look beautifully. In her unique, minimal aesthetic, she wore white pumps with a laid back hairstyle, boasting her intrinsic fun element while posing for the pictures.

7. Halle Berry

Cannes red carpet has soared in diamond—posing it as the jewellery trend poised to dominate. One of the celebrities attesting to the same was the Oscar winner Halle Berry in a Celia Kritharioti Couture creation from the SS25 Collection. The dual tone gown featured a corset torso and a pink and white chequered ruffle skirt with a trail. Completing the look with black pointed heels with sparkly buckles, her hair was styled in the perfect summer bob.
