Lindsay Lohan is currently trotting the globe to promote Freakier Friday, a sequel to her 2003 cult classic film, Freaky Friday. She has been on a press tour; with co-star Jamie Lee Curtis, simultaneously serving some of her best fashion moments. After years of laying low, not only has her style placed the actress back in public favour, it has also sent her fans; many of whom are 80s, 90s and early 00s babies, on a nostalgic trip back in time. Her styling for the press tour has been impeccable, thanks to her collaboration with Andrew Mukamal; the architect behind Margot Robbie's Barbie press tour style. Mukamal slips in fashion references like no other; the most recent starlet to be styled by him being Vanessa Kirby for Fantastic Four. Mukamal and Lohan's collaboration referred to her 2000s style moments and recreated many timeless classic 90s and early 2000s looks.

Scroll below to take a look at some of the best y2k references on Lindsay Lohan while promoting Freakier Friday

1. Freaky Friday 2.0

Lohan wore a custom purple dress by Ludovic de Saint Serni, which was a close replica of the purple gown she wore in Freaky Friday. The lavender mesh metal gown was dripping in Swarovski crystals which Lohan paired with diamond jewellery and a Judith Leiber guitar bag; another reference from the movie.

2. Preppy chic

One look at this outfit and you'll be reminded of Cher Horowitz letting her computer pick her now-iconic outfit in Clueless. But that wasn't the look the Mean Girls-famed star was aiming for. Rather, she meshed two of her looks from Parent Trap for this one. As Annie, one of the twins played by Lindsay in Parent Trap, she wore a checkered skirt and sweater set, and another was a butter yellow set, both with a headband. In a butter-yellow tweed ensemble from Balmain, Lohan references all three elements of her look at the same time. She styled this look with yellow Christian Louboutin heels, a black Hermès bag and Jessica McCormack diamond earrings.

3. The other twin

Lindsay also gave a nod to Halie, the other twin she played in Parent Trap, in a Roberto Cavalli dress. Referencing the Chinese silk dress moment from the movie, Lohan wore a Chinese-inspired midi dress that she paired with a pair of Khaite x Oliver Peoples sunglasses, strapped heels, and a Roberto Cavalli faux-bag phone case.

4. Tutu train

Not only has she been referencing her own looks, Lohan has also been doing a good job by referencing other iconic looks from the 2000s too. She referenced the iconic look worn by Sarah Jessica Parker in the first episode of Sex And The City in a white Jacquemus midi dress. The original look worn by the protagonist of the series, Carrie Bradshaw, consisted of a tutu skirt paired with a pink top. Lohan’s take on this was a little different; she opted for a midi dress with a tutu-like hem that she paired with an archival pair of Jimmy Choo’s, similar to a pair worn by Parker while filming the show.

5. Butter yellow

For all the How To Lose A Guy In 10 Days fans, this dress by the Mean Girls star is a treat. Lohan recreated a look similar to Kate Hudson’s character in her cult-classic movie with this Balmain look. While it may have reminded you of that iconic backless yellow dress Hudson wore, it was inspiration from Parent Trap as both twins were seen twinning in this shade. She styled her chic yellow dress with a yellow bag and beige boots.
