The red carpet, or must we say, the moss garden-grazing carpet of the Met Gala this year, has been laid, and many are in attendance. Kylie Jenner, a Met Gala mainstay, arrived just in time, albeit minus Timothée Chalamet in tow, but most certainly on the best-dressed list once again this year.

The evening pays tribute to "Costume Art" as the theme and "Fashion is Art" as the dress code. Kylie Jenner honours it in a custom Schiaparelli gown that seems as though it was moulded directly on her statuesque physique. The nude illusion creation features nipples and a belly button on the cinched, nude, strapless corseted bodice, which makes it quintessentially Kylie.

The sculptural gown extends into a billowing drop-waist skirt with a folded waistline to reveal the long torso of the corset. In true Schiaparelli style, the skirt and the corset, although different in form and structure, are created with an intentional creative expression to depict art as we know it, but with Kylie Jenner moving in motion with it. To add to the drama of the gown, the ivory skirt is also embellished with rhinestones and pearls in a cascading effect to depict fluid movement as she ascended the steps.

The jewellery deserves a moment of its own. She wore an Art Deco necklace set decked with pearls and natural diamonds, but interestingly worn backwards, for the real finishing touch.

Never to miss a beauty statement either, the Met Gala serves as her playground, and this time, Kylie Jenner chose bleached blonde eyebrows to make an entry. Fans, however, got a glimpse of it on her way in. She shared a selfie on her Instagram story on her way to the Metropolitan Museum of Art, revealing her eyebrows with the caption, "I don't have eyebrows, wish me luck." If she isn't experimenting with different hair colours or coloured wigs, it's her eyebrows that double up as the canvas. Her makeup is muted with neutral tones, a signature Kylie Jenner contour and lip combination, and a clear, glowing complexion. As for the hair, she went with soft waves, brushed for texture and volume and set to perfection with a kiss curl around her eye to frame her face.

Kendall Jenner, Kylie's elder sister, also went a similar route. In a GapStudio gown designed by Zac Posen, Kendall Jenner resembled fluidity with an off-shoulder neckline that exposed a faux nipple. It's not the first time the sisters have arrived in similar fashion and seems like it won't be the last either.

The reason Kylie Jenner makes it to the best-dressed list at any red carpet gathering each time is pretty simple - she knows just how to create a character from couture, breathing new life into it.
