Gaurav Gupta; a pioneering voice of avant-garde couture in India who is now world-renowned, unveiled a landmark moment in his design journey. He debuted his first dedicated bridal couture collection for the wedding day. Marking a distinct creative shift; he termed it his "most rooted collection to date", which was the result of a year-long pause from the Paris Haute Couture calendar, allowing Gupta to channel his focus inward. The bridal showcase was fronted by Bollywood stars, Janhvi Kapoor and Sidharth Malhotra, who are romantic leads in the upcoming film, Param Sundari.

Inspired by the architectural elegance of Art Nouveau, the grandeur of Indian royalty, and the symbolism of ancient mythology, Gupta reimagined the traditional bride not through disruption, but through evolution in his bridal wear debut.

The collection showcased the designer's signature sculpted silhouettes, tiers of fringe and dramatic forms in trusted shades of peaches, greys and champagnes. The abundance of sparkle throughout ensured that this, in fact, was very much intended for the Indian bride. Instead of breaking away from tradition however, Gupta gently transformed it by creating silhouettes that echo the past while pointing to the future. Power shouldered-pantsuits, dupattas draped as capes on the shoulders and structured veils wrapped around the head were an indicator of this. Pops of colour came from ensembles in cobalt blue and bottle green but the highlight had to be the stunning red lehenga, a trademark of Hindu bridal wear across the nation, and the world. Menswear featured resplendent layers and turbans in muted shades for the understated groom. Each garment, a tapestry of heritage and innovation, featured intricate zardozi work, and Chantilly lace sourced from storied French ateliers; all imbued with the house’s signature sculptural fluidity and poetic detailing. These pieces are more than bridal attire; they are wearable emotions, timeless artefacts, and expressions of identity. Each piece was envisioned by the designer as a future heirloom, one that holds ancestral memory while reflecting the individuality of a new generation.

As is practically tradition in tinsel town, the event saw the stars descend; not from the heavens but from the film city. Malaika Arora, Disha Patani, Vaani Kapoor, Arjun Rampal and more Bollywood celebrities were seated in the front row for the showcase.

"We’re not only dressing for the bride of today, but for the bride of tomorrow", the designer shared. The collection does not seek to conform to established bridal codes, but to expand them. With this highly anticipated debut, Gaurav Gupta doesn’t merely enter the bridal wear space; he reshapes what it means to be a bride in contemporary India.
