From emeralds the size of legends to engagement rings destined for history books, 2025 became a landmark year in jewellery. Across red carpets, runways, and intimate milestones, celebrities embraced craftsmanship that felt bolder, more personal, and unmistakably heirloom-worthy. Priyanka Chopra Jonas opened the year with a 241-carat emerald spectacle, while Sonam Kapoor, Deepika Padukone, and the Ambani women championed sculptural colour and vintage-inspired grandeur. Even global icons like Taylor Swift, Lewis Hamilton, and Georgina Rodríguez leaned into sentimental, old-world detailing. These are the moments that defined the year—where artistry, emotion, and extravagance met in perfect brilliance.

JEWELLERY DEFINING MOMENTS OF 2025

1. Priyanka Chopra Jonas: The 241-carat emerald

At the 2025 Met Gala, Priyanka stunned in Bvlgari’s Polychroma High Jewelry emerald necklace, crowned with a monumental 241.06-carat octagonal emerald framed in pavé diamonds. The tiered emerald-and-diamond collar and matching emerald ring weren’t just accessories—they were history worn boldly at the collarbone.

2. Sonam Kapoor: Sapphire precision

At London Fashion Week, Sonam chose a sculptural sapphire collar: pear-shaped royal blue sapphires drop-set in a rhythmic pattern that hugs the neckline with museum-level craftsmanship. Understated sapphire drops complete the look, letting the deep cobalt palette do the speaking.

3. Isha Ambani: Heirloom emerald luxury

During the Pink Ball celebrations, Isha wore a graduated emerald necklace featuring heart-cut stones framed in brilliant diamonds. Paired with chandelier earrings and a statement emerald ring, the set reads like a private vault—bold, symmetrical, and unmistakably regal.

4. Nita Ambani: The emerald sautoir

At the same event, Nita wore a diamond and emerald sautoir anchored with a cushion-cut emerald centrepiece and cascading diamond tassels. The long line, oversized stones, and vintage construction give the necklace the authority of a curated royal treasure.

5. Tamannaah Bhatia: The diamond coil

At Bvlgari’s Serpenti showcase, Tamannaah chose a tightly set diamond choker resembling a sculpted serpent — scale-like rows of diamonds wrapped fluidly around the neck. Minimal earrings ensured all attention stayed on the brilliance and articulation of the choker.

6. Deepika Padukone: Rubies reinvented

For Sabyasachi’s 25th anniversary, Deepika layered a ruby-encrusted choker with a dramatic cross-pendant ruby necklace. The deep wine-red stones, framed in antique gold and diamonds, create a look that’s bold, architectural, and unapologetically maximal.

7. Georgina Rodríguez: Oval promise

When Cristiano asked Georgina to marry him, he chose a ring that felt as meaningful as the moment. The large oval diamond — rumoured to be around 30 carats — shines boldly, yet the thin, delicate band holding it softens everything.

8. Lewis Hamilton: The heritage brooch

At the Met Gala, Lewis Hamilton revived a forgotten men’s jewellery classic: the heirloom brooch. Styled on his lapel and even on a wide-brimmed hat, an antique, Victorian-influenced design set with white, yellow and pink diamonds.

9. Taylor Swift: The heirloom-cut engagement ring

When Taylor’s engagement became public in 2025, jewellers quickly identified her ring’s vintage influences. Created with old-world sensibilities by a boutique craftsman, the piece features an elongated, antique-inspired cushion diamond on a slim platinum band. This ring feels more heirloom than headline.

10. Samantha Ruth Prabhu: The portrait-cut glow

Samantha’s engagement ring quickly earned admiration for its unusual cut. Instead of a traditional radiant or oval, her ring features a rare portrait-cut, lozenge-shaped centre diamond, bordered by delicate petal-like side stones. Its structural simplicity caught everyone’s eye. A contemporary shape with a spirit of artisanal piece.

11. Janhvi Kapoor: The backlace moment

At Cannes this year, Janhvi gave everyone a fresh way to look at jewellery. Instead of wearing her necklace in front, she let it fall down her back. A delicate backlace made of soft green stones, tiny charms, and gold details that glimmered in the sun. It wasn’t showy. It was the kind of jewellery that moves with you and highlights your skin.
