Meghan Markle's most meaningful royal heirloom jewellery

1. Queen Elizabeth II's earrings

One of the first royal jewels Meghan received was a pair of elegant diamond and pearl drop earrings gifted by Queen Elizabeth II ahead of their first solo engagement together in Cheshire in June 2018. The earrings became one of Meghan's most treasured pieces, which she wore during Queen Elizabeth II's funeral in 2022; a poignant tribute to the monarch who had welcomed her into the family.

2. Queen Mary diamond tiara

For her royal wedding to Prince Harry in May 2018, Meghan wore the spectacular Queen Mary Diamond Bandeau Tiara—loaned by Queen Elizabeth II—which perfectly complemented her minimalist Givenchy wedding gown. Although the tiara was returned to the royal collection after the ceremony, it remains one of the most memorable pieces Meghan has ever worn.

Among the heirlooms inherited through Prince Harry, Princess Diana's gold Cartier Tank Française watch has become one of Meghan's signature pieces. Diana frequently wore the watch throughout the 1990s, and it remains one of the jewels most closely associated with her later years. Meghan has worn it on several occasions; in magazine features and portraits following the Sussexes' departure from royal duties.  

5. Princess Diana's butterfly earrings and sapphire bracelet

Diana's gold butterfly earrings, set with diamonds and deep blue stones, first appeared during her 1986 tour of Canada. Meghan debuted them during the Sussexes' Australian tour in 2018, shortly after announcing her pregnancy, pairing them with Diana's matching sapphire bracelet.

6. Princess Diana's Asprey aquamarine ring

Few pieces are as instantly recognisable as Diana's Asprey aquamarine cocktail ring. Commissioned in 1996, the striking emerald-cut aquamarine ring replaced Diana's famous sapphire engagement ring during the final years of her life. Meghan first wore the ring during her evening wedding reception after marrying Prince Harry in 2018, pairing it with her Stella McCartney gown. 

7. Princess Diana's Cartier diamond tennis bracelet

Princess Diana's elegant Cartier diamond tennis bracelet has also become a regular part of Meghan's jewellery wardrobe. The timeless design, which Diana often wore in the 1990s, perfectly complements Meghan's preference for refined, minimalist styling. The bracelet gained particular attention during the Sussexes' 2021 interview with Oprah Winfrey, where it served as another subtle tribute to Harry's late mother.
