As a country rich in culture, heritage and a sensorial perfumery tradition, we recognise its significance when a new player enters the playground. The arrival of Kilian Paris, hence, is a welcome one. Given its celebrity-favourite tag, the strategic launch of the store in Mumbai made a case for being a starry affair. In a momentous turnaround, Huda Kattan announced in June 2025 that the brand that she co-founded in 2013 finally belongs to her again. For the unversed, her namesake brand, which had a massive impact in the beauty world, sold a minority stake to TSG Consumer in 2017. With the news of Kattan taking over full control of the brand, Huda Beauty becomes one of the rare fully founder-owned brands in the beauty space. 

Since its inception, the brand has been established to revolutionise the beauty space. Under Kattan's leadership, Huda Beauty has become a global powerhouse that continues to inspire women and grow its reach.

While luxury beauty is entering the Indian market on one hand, the Katrina Kaif-helmed beauty brand, Kay Beauty, is making her mark on the global front. After a successful national run and online success in the UAE, the popular brand is set to make its retail launch outside India in the UK at Space NK in August 2025. 

The cross-pollination of Indian and international luxury beauty brands is an ongoing process, with Kay Beauty proving that they continue to be a flagbearer of the former. 

5. Armani Beauty expands its influence in India 

After a successful run with its launch at the capital's DLF Promenade and Bengaluru's Mall of Asia, Armani Beauty now has a new address. Mumbai's Jio World Drive welcomed the beauty brand's new store in June 2025 to the customers of the Bollywood hub.

For a staggering $1 billion, E.l.f Beauty acquired Hailey Bieber's beauty brand, Rhode, this year. As part of this blockbuster deal, $800 million was paid upfront, and the rest of the earnout was paid based on future, potential performance, making this one of the most sought-after beauty deals to date. 

E.l.f Beauty probably saw the opportunity to capitalise on the rapidly growing popularity of Hailey Bieber's famously termed, the "glazed donut" trend and the Rhode lip gloss cavity carrying phone covers. Can you blame them?
