‘The bigger, the better’ may work flawlessly when baking a cake or booking a vacation, but that doesn’t mean it’s applicable for weddings. Centuries of societal conditioning, especially in South Asia, have led to the belief that the love between partners is proportional to how extravagant their wedding function is. The sentiment echoes with the famous faces who’ve booked out hotels, hired pop stars to perform and flown guests across the world to attend their nuptials. Many others however, have chosen to do things differently. Celebrities from Hollywood and Bollywood have been part of the growing trend of understated wedding celebrations where a short guest list and private ambiance reigns supreme. After all, if you’re happy and you know it, focus on the marriage, not just the wedding. HELLO! lists the celebrities from Bollywood and Hollywood who've opted for low-key celebrity weddings.
