Back in 2017, Justin Baldoni described his wife, Emily Baldoni, as having “depth, grace and quiet strength” which he’d always dreamed of. It has been seven years since his interview with Makers and the couple continue to be more in love than ever before. The Hollywood actor and Swedish actress celebrated 12 years of wedded bliss, with adorable pictures posted by both of them on social media. Justin’s was a photo of them from their wedding album, captioned, “I’d marry you again and again and again and again” while Emily said, “Still madly in love with you”, with a photo of them sharing a kiss. With fame, adoring fans and a barely-there private life, having a successfully healthy marriage is a rarity, so Justin and Emily might just be one of those exceptions.
HELLO! walks down memory lane and takes a look at the couple’s complete relationship timeline; from their first meeting to their viral wedding proposal and more.

In 2011, the celebrities had their first date at Blu Jam Cafe in Los Angeles, which went on to become an integral spot for the rest of their relationship. Two years later, the actor proposed to the actress at the very same eatery where their relationship began. Hidden cameras filmed Justin’s 26-minute-long wedding proposal in April 2013, which began with Emily waiting for him in a restaurant while watching a montage of him belting out dance moves to pop songs, an elaborate flash mob in the mall and also, emotional moments where he asked her late father for permission to marry her at the graveyard, playing out in front of her.
In the caption of the video, he stated, "On April 13th, I proposed to my girlfriend Emily at the restaurant where we had our first date. I told her I was running late, had the restaurant opened just for her, and set up hidden cameras all around her. When she sat down at the table, there was a TV in front of her set to take her on a journey that would lead to the proposal of a lifetime. This is what happened…” It finally led to Justin appearing in front of her in the restaurant and proposing to her, which she joyfully accepted with tears in her eyes.
Three months after their viral engagement video, the couple married in July 2013 in California. To Style Me Pretty, Emily shared, "Our wedding day was on a beautiful summer’s day at our dear friend’s stunning Corona, CA property. My mother-in-law, Sharon, did all the decorating and turned the place into a Midsummer Night’s Dream, exactly what I had hoped for. She put so much love in all the details, you could feel the magic of it all. Our flowers looked like ones we could have picked ourselves out in the meadows; natural, simple yet so beautiful. It all had a very simple and rustic feel, yet with a certain magical spark á la Midsummer Night’s Dream, a place where lovers go and get lost in the night.”
Sharing more details about their wedding, the actress said, “I am beyond grateful to not only be married to the love of my life, but to have such a special wedding day to look back at, a true testament to the love we have in our lives.”
Parenthood then followed for the lovebirds. Justin and Emily’s first child, their daughter, Maiya Grace, was born in June 2015. Three years later, their second-born, a son, Maxwell Roland-Samuel, was born in October 2018.
In 2024, their son and daughter even featured in the movie, It Ends With Us, which was directed by and starred Justin. To E!, he said, “They’re in the final scene in the farmer’s market. There are two kids that are running into the farmer’s market and that was their kind of debut. I said, ‘Action,’ and then they ran off.”
From making headlines and starring in Hollywood hits to having a home full of joy, love and family, Justin and Emily’s relationship is truly like no other.
