Cannes 2026: Alia Bhatt returns to La Croisette in a painting-inspired ball gown

For a glamorous event such as the Cannes Film Festival, Alia Bhatt's memo was simple, classic and timeless. Alia Bhatt returns to the Cannes red carpet for her second appearance, and the run-up to the event was worth the wait. An elegant Alia Bhatt walked down the red carpet on day one of the esteemed festival in a ball gown with a sleek, plunging neckline and a demure corseted bodice. The highlight is in the gown itself, though. The elegance of a Renaissance-inspired, whimsical garden painting draws attention to the viewer as Alia Bhatt exited the iconic Hotel Martinez. 

Her jewellery choices are minimal, but the idea here was never to overwhelm, but instead to blend beautifully with the setting. Her stylist followed the same suit for her choice of footwear - a pair of ivory white peep-toe sandals.
