Last season, bag charms and tote bags were quick to make their way into our closets. The ongoing season is the perfect time to reboot our closets by adding a bit more current flavour to our bag collection. As 2025 reaches its 6-month-mark, we have seen several stylish silhouettes, styles and additions to all types of carryalls. Embellished bags and quirky charms have woven their way into important events, whereas paparazzi shots outside airports feature slouchy to structured bags. 6 BAG TRENDS FOR THE SEASON

1. In love with Labubu

The luxury market has a new craze that will take you back to your childhood. Labubu is a gremlin-like doll that has taken over high-end fashion and become every It-girl's best friend. Labubu is a character from Hong Kong-based toy series by Kasing Lung that has jagged teeth, a mischievous grin and pointy ears. These whimsical bag charms come in a variety of shapes, sizes and colours, making them a trendy pick to wear with your bag of choice. Labubus are now so popular across the world, each also has the option of changing its own clothing and accessories.

2. Heavy on the embellishment

The Met Gala and Cannes Film Festival saw a slew of celebrities carrying embellished bags. Although these bags have always been in style, their popularity has increased tenfold during this season of fashion events. Perfect for fancy occasions, these bags seamlessly fit date nights as well as wedding party glamour. 

3. Good enough to eat

Pizza, baguette, french fries – this isn't just the list of everything we'd like to devour for dinner. All our favourite foods are also available as bags this season. Take notes from Rihanna's Fendi bag shaped like a crisp baguette, which the singer rocked the day after Met Gala. The brown baguette bag came with a black strap over it. 

Blake Lively knows a thing or two about mood dressing, as the Another Simple Favour actress styled a pizza-shaped embellished purse by Judith Leiber, when she stepped out for a slice of pizza with her co-stars.
