After courting for 13 years, Hina Khan has gotten wifey status. The television actress tied the knot with her long-time boyfriend, Rocky Jaiswal, in an intimate ceremony. The couple radiated love and happiness and together, stunned in matching couture ensembles designed by Indian fashion designer Manish Malhotra. A name quintessential to the world of Bollywood fashion, Manish Malhotra is highly-desired name in the field of ethnic bridal wear. The designer has had a monumental impact on Indian fashion, rivalled by only a few. When he designed couture for the two, the pair was sure to be draped in weaves of romance and beauty.
The fairytale-esque ceremony saw the bride dressed in a handwoven opal green saree; with the nine yards of wonder coming woven with traditional Indian patterns in gold and silver threads. An element present in most ethnic ensembles for Indian brides on her wedding day, it enhanced the etherealness of the saree. The saree was paired with a baby pink blouse that looked magical with the opal green hues of it. The saree's zardosi embroidered border and delicate drape complimented the soft colour of the blouse, giving the overall look a romantic feel. The saree had both Hina's and Rocky's names embroidered on one side of the saree in Devanagiri script with an infinity loop placed between their names.
She donned a pastel pink dupatta on top of her head to complete it, adding layers of elegance to the princess-like look. For jewellery, Khan opted for pieces from Manish Malhotra's heritage collection that included a choker with multi-coloured gems, dainty dangling earrings and a maangtikka placed on the centre of her forehead, a finishing touch for the bride. Her hands were covered in bridal bangles and polki rings, while her feet were adorned with anklets.
Her hands were painted in the quintessential bridal mehendi with minimal designs. The lotus motifs on her hands and feet symbolised new beginnings and purity. On her toes and soles, the henna featured traditional paisleys and floral patterns drawn in a clean and symmetrical manner. Her hair was styled in loose waves, parted down the middle and tucked neatly under her baby-pink dupatta, worn as a veil. Accompanying her ethereal look, her makeup was done in a similar manner, without any loud colours. She opted for blush pink cheeks, soft rosy-coloured lips and enhanced her eyes with shimmery eyeshadow and lash extensions.
As for the groom, Rocky Jaiswal wore a Manish Malhotra signature kurta in white that was tailored to fit, creating an understated look. Both of them made the perfect pair, dressed in dreamy shades of pastels and whites.
The two first met 13 years ago when shooting for Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai, where Khan portrayed the role of the lead actress, while Rocky served as a supervising producer. What started as an innocent friendship eventually blossomed into love, when the two committed to each other for life.
