An appendage of New York’s finest culinary institution, Le Cirque in New Delhi has reopened in its newest iterations at The Leela Palace, New Delhi, this time relocated to the first floor of the hotel. While it was earliest perched atop at the 10th floor, Le Cirque has been long revered for its French-Italian culinary heritage. This renewed iteration focuses on a renovated space, an evolved menu, and an immersive dining experience that reflects both its illustrious past and its progressive future. The relaunch on the first floor aims to make Le Cirque more centrally focused in the hotel’s culinary heart — merging ease of access and  an updated focus on ambience and service.

From a culinary perspective, Le Cirque at The Leela is an impressive extension of New York’s legacy into the capital of India. The original Le Cirque was founded in New York in 1974 by Sirio Maccioni, which became a legend of fine dining over the decades. Synonymous with elegance, theatricality, and uncompromising culinary standards, the New Delhi outpost combines those French and Italian sensibilities through elevated classics and an outstanding wine list. The restaurant goes above and beyond to highlight its use of fresh, seasonal, and even hydroponically grown produce. It also includes a Chef’s Table overlooking a show kitchen, giving diners a front-row view of the craft. Guests can look forward to signature highlights including Tuna Crudo, Wild Mushroom and Black Truffle Tart, Lobster Ravioli “Le Cirque,” the 40-layer New Zealand Lamb Lasagna, Salt-baked Mediterranean Sea Bass, and the Mille-Feuille à la Vanille, an enduring Le Cirque finale. Moreover, Le Cirque in New Delhi boasts one of the most admired wine lists in the city. In 2025, they won the Wine Spectator’s Award of Excellence, making it The Leela Palace New Delhi's 7th win in a row.

The interiors marry dramatic sophistication with intimate luxury. The interiors boast a bespoke glass-tile, walls in plum and gold, fine wood panelling, sculptural lighting, and a cohesive combination of materials such as velvets and leathers to create a nuanced sense of warmth. Guests are welcomed through an elegant entrance into experiential wine-tasting corners, which flow into the main dining room. The palette leans on wooden tones and beiges, complemented by marquetry-inspired details and hand-crafted gold-glass ceilings. The main restaurant seats 40 covers, which gives a sense of exclusivity and allows the interiors to feel more intimate.

The wine programme has also been reimagined: think temperature-controlled wine cellars, intimate tasting tables, and experiences guided by the in-house sommelier, offering a sensorial journey through rare vintages and celebrated international labels. Each selection is meticulously crafted in cohesion to Le Cirque’s refined Franco-Italian menu. Also, for the first time, it has opened its doors for lunch that showcases an à la carte menu. Vegetarian and vegan options are seamlessly integrated, ensuring every guest enjoys a thoughtfully tailored dining experience.

With its refined atmosphere and updated menu, Le Cirque at The Leela Palace restates its position as one of the city’s finest dining experiences. This reimagined chapter not only celebrates Le Cirque’s timeless legacy but also ushers in a new era of modern fine dining in the capital.
