
One of the most refined personas to hail from Bollywood, Saif Ali Khan is born with royal blood. The son of actress, Sharmila Tagore and royal cricketer, the late Mansoor Ali Khan Pataudi, the nawab hails from the royal family of Pataudi, of Haryana. Throughout his 55 years, Khan has built himself a name in the celebrity sphere by opting to follow in his mother's footsteps, entering the flashy world of Indian showbiz. While his royal heritage is evident through in way he carries himself, Khan being a royal is an afterthought; as he is seen as one of the most endearing actors in Indian cinema.
From holding his own as Rohan in Kal Ho Na Ho next to Shah Rukh Khan and Preity Zinta, to portraying the role of a charming casanova in Dil Chahta Hai, Saif mastered what worked for him pretty early on in his career; the charming star who was never short of wit and wise-cracks. Alongside his sister, Soha Ali Khan, Saif launched an eponymous brand, House of Pataudi, that takes Indian royal craftsmanship up a couple of notches, thus building themselves a fashion business. In the world of entertainment, Khan owns two production companies—Illumnaati Films and Black Knight Films. He has produced movies such as Love Aaj Kal and Cocktail under the banner of Illuminati Films.
Khan has also spread his wings in the world of hospitality as he co-owns the luxury Middle Easter restaurant chain, Bayroute, known for its premium dining experience that features Lebanese, Moroccan, Greek and Turkish dishes with delicacies such as mezze, kebabs, shawarma, biryani, hummus and baklava.
Khan also owns several lavish properties around the world, starting with the most opulent one that is his ancestral property, the Pataudi Palace. Khan lives with his family in Fortune Heights, a building in Mumbai's surburb of Bandra. He owns a luxury chalet in Gstaad in Switzerland, and recently invested in luxury property at The St. Regis Marsa Arabia Island in Doha, Qatar. This all adds up to Khan having a net worth of a whopping Rs 1,300 crores.

Apart from being a full-time actor and a part-time investor, Khan has a fulfilling personal life too. Cooking, reading, travelling and playing musical instruments stand among his many hobbies. He has been known to show an interest in cooking and loves to prepare meals for his families. In a series of interviews, Khan has admitted to a love of playing musical instruments, such as the guitar. He has also been open about his love for reading, and a stately bookshelf in his Bandra home often features in his wife Kareena Kapoor's pictures on social media.
A father to four children, a husband, a son and a brother—Khan has portrayed the role of many people through his lifetime while rewriting the rules of what a modern-day royal should look like.
