The idea of an ensemble that is an amalgamation of Indian heritage and Western silhouettes has been seen through time; at starry events, at black-tie functions and on red carpets. Maintaining the aesthetic balance between spotlighting India's rich sartorial legacy without appearing caricature-esque while still staying contemporary enough for the world at-large, can be a challenge. But impossible it is not. That's what Janhvi Kapoor's latest look spoke of. At the ongoing Toronto International Film Festival 2025, the Bollywood actress; along with actors Ishaan Khatter, Vishal Jethwa and the film cast and crew, attended the North American premiere of their movie, Homebound. While it has been getting rave reviews since earlier this year; and even a nine-minute standing ovation at the Cannes Film Festival, it was also their red carpet style that shone at TIFF 2025. Janhvi's, in particular.
The actress wore a white Miu Miu gown with black polka dots detailing its entirety. The ruched strapless neckline featured a drape that went over her chest, across her back with its end wrapped around her wrist. A brooch held it snugly in place. Its A-line silhouette flared daintily outward, with length that covered her feet. Jewellery featured a pair of chunky floral earrings that matched the aesthetic of her brooch. With her dark tresses worn in sleek waves, Janhvi's makeup pairing came with flushed pink cheeks and links, full brows, fluttery lashes and a blush-toned manicure.

After being dressed in the Italian designer label's creations at Cannes, Wimbledon and the brand's flagship store relaunch in London's Bond Street this year, she is considered a friend of the brand with speculation for brand ambassadorship in the future. Amongst all her previous outings in Miu Miu, her latest turn at TIFF 2025 turned heads for all the right reasons. While the drape of Janhvi's gown paid homage to India's beloved garment, the vintage pattern, ruched detailing and modern silhouette ensured it stayed chic and contemporary as ever.
