The late Bollywood actress Sridevi may be gone but is never forgotten, especially for her daughter Janhvi Kapoor. A flourishing fashionista and actress herself, Janhvi takes her role in the spotlight very seriously; never for once forgetting the integral advice her mother Sridevi shared with her. Kapoor recently appeared on Two Much With Kajol And Twinkle, where she discussed her journey as an actress and a public figure to navigate the tricky landscape of perfection and self-worth in today's beauty standards.

Janhvi spoke candidly about the pressure young women face in today’s digital world, saying “I don’t believe in gatekeeping. I was one of the young girls who was very impressionable with the onset of social media and seeing everyone being judged and look in a certain way. And I don’t want to perpetuate to young girls this idea of perfection. I’m a big believer of ‘you do you’, do whatever makes you happy. I would be very happy to be a completely open book about things.” Proving how much of an open book she really is when it comes to her own appearance, the actress also addressed the ever-present online speculation about her alleged cosmetic procedures; yes, including that blepharoplasty rumour. She says, “I think I have been very intelligent, conservative and proper about what I have done."

Mentioning Sridevi's presence in her life even today, Janhvi added, "Of course I had the guidance of my mom and I’d like to share that. Also as a cautionary tale, because if a young girl sees a video like this and decides ‘mujhe bhi ye buffalo-plasty karna hai’, and if something goes wrong, that would be the worst thing ever. I think transparency is important." Reflecting on her late mother's wisdom, Janhvi shared how, even during her own growing years, Sridevi understood the pressure of beauty standards in the entertainment industry. “She always told me that beauty is meant to enhance your confidence, not define your worth. If you ever decide to change something, make sure it’s for yourself, not because of fear or comparison," she concluded.
