Fine jewellery has traditionally been associated with heritage and permanence. Today, the landscape of luxury accessories is evolving as a new generation embraces pieces that reflect personality, storytelling and cultural influence. Solitario's recent collaboration that merges beloved pop-culture icons like Tom and Jerry and the DC Universe with diamond craftsmanship signals this changing mindset. Vivek Oberoi, the Co-founder of Solitario, speaks to HELLO! India about jewellery moving beyond convention to become a form of wearable narrative.

"At Solitario, we believe jewellery should tell a story, not just sit in a vault," says the entrepreneur. "By partnering with Warner Bros. Discovery, we are blending the nostalgia of Tom & Jerry and the power of the DC Universe with the timelessness of fine diamonds. We wanted to prove that fine jewellery can be both elite and relatable, capturing the imagination of a generation that values personality over tradition."

Beyond creative collaborations, Oberoi believes the broader landscape of men’s jewellery is undergoing a major shift. Where once the category was largely limited to watches and wedding bands, modern wardrobes now make space for more expressive adornment. "It’s not just coming back; it’s evolving," Oberoi explains. "We are seeing a massive shift where men are no longer restricted to just a watch or a wedding band. Jewellery has become a key pillar of self-expression. Men today are more confident and are using diamonds and precious metals to define their personal brand. This year, the focus is on 'masculine elegance'—pieces that are bold yet refined."

That change is already shaping the accessories likely to dominate the year ahead. Statement pieces which were once considered unconventional, are steadily finding their place in both, red carpet and everyday wardrobes. "In 2026, I’m looking at statement brooches and layered neckpieces," Oberoi says. "Brooches are making a huge comeback on red carpets and even in boardroom attire. I’m also big on signet rings with a modern twist and sustainable diamond-studded lapel pins. Anything that adds a layer of character to a classic silhouette is a 'yes' for me."

In the future, he believes sustainability and versatility will define the next era of jewellery design. "The future is sustainable, personalised, and gender-fluid. We are seeing a surge in demand for lab-grown diamonds because the modern man cares about the origin of his luxury. The barrier between 'men’s' and 'women’s' jewellery will continue to blur, focusing instead on craftsmanship and design." Much of this evolution has also been influenced by celebrity style. “Internationally, Harry Styles and Timothée Chalamet have really pushed the envelope, making pearls and bold diamonds look incredibly effortless. Closer to home, Ranveer Singh is a trailblazer; he wears jewellery with such fearlessness and flair. Also, Hardik Pandya has a great eye for pieces that balance sportiness with high-end luxury," Oberoi adds.
