Today marks Alia Bhatt's second day at the Cannes Film Festival 2026, and already her third look in that very short time span. After a ball gown worthy of a Disney princess and a peachy keen couture gown, the Bollywood actress decided to tilt away from the expected language of international red carpet dressing and instead, lean fully into Indian couture. For her latest Cannes 2026 look, Alia wore an ivory corset saree which brought together old-world elegance with the quiet grandeur of modern Indian dressing.

Bhatt stepped onto the red carpet, looking distinctly different from the wave of predictable couture that's often seen at the festival. Instead of volume-heavy gowns or shimmering embellishment, she chose a silhouette rooted in Indian occasion dressing. The ivory ethnic ensemble by Tarun Tahiliani featured a sculpted embroidered corset that seamlessly merged into a fluid pre-structured drape, soft cowl detailing, and an elongated train which created a silhouette that felt both, regal and restrained. Structured through the waist yet soft in movement, it featured subtle bird motifs, delicate embroidery and sleek brown borders, allowing its craftsmanship to remain the focal point.
Instead of maximal jewels, Alia opted for understated accessories including delicate haathphool-style hand jewellery, decorative earrings and most prominently, a nose pin which held all of the visual authority of her face on its own.

Her beauty look carried the same understated elegance as the ensemble itself. Alia wore her hair in a softly blown-out side part, styled into glossy lengths with barely-there bends that gave the appearance a lived-in softness. The skin was kept fresh and radiant with a satin glow that highlighted the high points of the face without appearing overly sculpted. A wash of muted rose shimmer across the eyelids added subtle dimension, paired with softly smoked liner and fluttery lashes that framed the eyes delicately. Her brows were brushed upward and kept natural, reinforcing the refined simplicity of the look. Tiny details, from the micro bindi to the traditional nose pin and delicate earrings, completed the beauty direction.
Rather than treating the saree as spectacle, Alia's latest look approached it as couture, refined, architectural and entirely at ease within the context of French Riviera fashion.
