There’s a calm that Mira Kapoor carries with her. Measured, mindful, and unmistakably rooted in something deeper than a trend. Over the years, she has quietly become a voice for intentional living, while favouring ayurvedic wisdom, clean skincare, and wellness rituals that nourish from within. Now, with the launch of Dhun Wellness in Mumbai, she’s translating her personal philosophy into a physical space that feels more like a sanctuary than a centre. It’s the culmination of her own journey that began with experiments in her kitchen and led to creating skincare rooted in Indian traditions. In this conversation with HELLO!, Mira Kapoor opens up about what wellness truly means to her, why slowing down isn’t a luxury, and how tuning into your own rhythm can change everything.

Anushree Sardesai: Your wellness philosophy is rooted in both tradition and modernity. How has your own journey shaped that balance?

Mira Kapoor: My journey has been about bridging the ancient with the contemporary. Early on, I developed a deep respect for natural remedies and the body's innate wisdom. As I navigated the pace of urban life, I realised the critical need for something more; something that could offer ultimate recovery and longevity within the city itself. That’s the balance we bring to Dhun Wellness, where ancient modalities like Ayurveda and sound healing are held in the same space as cryotherapy, gut diagnostics, and red light therapies. I wanted to create a place where these worlds don’t compete, they converge.

Anushree Sardesai: In  a  city  that  never  slows  down,  what  does  stillness  mean to you?

Mira Kapoor: Stillness, to me, is not about silence; it’s about alignment. It’s when my body, mind, and breath are in sync. Living in Mumbai, it’s easy to feel fragmented. But stillness isn’t a luxury, it’s a need. I find mine through the rituals I’ve built into my day: massaging ghee on my feet every night before bed, a sonic meditation when I feel mentally full, or even a few minutes in the Resonance Room at Dhun Wellness after a treatment.

Anushree Sardesai: Was  there  a  turning  point  in  your  life  that  nudged  you  towards  deeper  wellness practices; something that felt like a real ‘before and after’?

Mira Kapoor: Yes, becoming a mother was that shift. It was a beautiful, yet humbling recalibration of everything I knew about health, energy, and identity. I suddenly felt more responsible, not just for my children, but for myself. That’s when I truly deepened my relationship with Ayurveda, started listening to my body’s rhythms, and began integrating longevity-focused rituals into my life. It wasn’t about bounce-back culture anymore, it was about building resilience.

Anushree Sardesai: You’ve experienced wellness across the world. What were you missing in India that you wanted to create with Dhun?

Mira Kapoor: Globally, I found incredible expertise, but I always missed the soulfulness of Indian healing. And within India, I often found beautiful rituals but limited access to clinically grounded recovery tools in a non-hospital environment. Dhun Wellness is the bridge. It’s India’s first luxury in-city wellness sanctuary, and it brings everything under one roof - functional diagnostics, healing therapies and recovery tech. What also sets it apart is that we don’t ask people to disconnect from their everyday lives to access wellness, unlike other centres in India. We offer structured, immersive programs designed to integrate seamlessly into your weekly routine. Wellness shouldn't require an escape; it should be part of how you live.

At Dhun Wellness, we support this inside-out philosophy through rituals that heal gut health, balance hormones, and boost cellular regeneration. A Biologique Recherche facial means more when it follows an Ayurvedic lymphatic massage and a cryotherapy session, because your body is primed to receive. Feeling and looking good now feels like having steady energy, clear thoughts, rested eyes, and skin that reflects what’s happening inside. It’s glow with grounding. Our locker rooms even feature Akind Beauty skincare, reinforcing that connection between internal health and external radiance.

Anushree Sardesai: Are there any small practices you swear by, no matter how busy things get?

Mira Kapoor: Rituals are my anchor, they create a sense of rhythm and intention in the midst of a hectic day. No matter how busy life gets, there are a few small practices I never skip. Ghee on my feet every night is one of them; it’s grounding, calming, and helps me wind down. I start my mornings with raisins soaked in water, and warm milk at night is my comfort; it signals to my body that it’s time to rest. These little acts might seem minor, but they keep me connected to myself and bring a quiet kind of joy to my routine.

Anushree Sardesai: What’s the first thing you do after waking up?

Mira Kapoor: The first thing I do after waking up is have raisins soaked in water with a few strands of saffron. This simple ritual supports digestion, balances energy, and feels like a quiet act of care before the day begins.

Anushree Sardesai: What’s on your nightstand right now?

Mira Kapoor: A bottle of sesame oil and my phone charger.

Anushree Sardesai: Is there a scent or ingredient that instantly makes you feel grounded?

Mira Kapoor: Jasmine

Anushree Sardesai: If you had just one hour to reset, what would your ideal wellness ritual look like?

Mira Kapoor: One hour? I’d walk into Dhun, of course. I'd start with a short session in the infrared sauna for deep cellular detox and warmth, followed by a quick cryotherapy session to reduce inflammation and boost energy. Then, I'd move to our Resonance Room to experience the calming power of sound healing with instruments like the Shruti Thali Set, allowing the Solfeggio Frequencies to reset my nervous system.
