As the 79th edition of the Cannes Film Festival 2026 unfolds on the French Riviera, the red carpet has once again become a stage for fashion at its most cinematic. From sculptural couture and archival revivals to sharply tailored menswear and understated elegance, this year’s festival has delivered a compelling mix of glamour and individuality, which HELLO! India picks their best dressed moments from.

On day 1, Alia Bhatt returned to the Cannes Film Festival after a memorable debut last year. In keeping up with her stylish streak, she wore a princess-inspired ball gown. The minimalistic flair is signature to Alia Bhatt and she does complete justice to esteemed film festival for yet another unforgettable red carpet moment.

Alia Bhatt made her second appearance and it was the very definition of a modern-day diva. A strapless peachy pink gown trailed through for her glamorous first look. She paired the gown with a drop diamond necklace set for the perfect India-meets-France fusion on the red carpet.

Busy defying ageing and in style was Jane Fonda, who pulled all stops in a slinky black column gown, covered in sequins and her signature spunk. For accessories, she played it far from safe in a statement necklace and chunky rings.

Call it the ability of being both a fashion icon and simply being Demi Moore, the red carpet her playground and plays by her rules. She didn't shy away from shimmering away in a strapless silver gown with diamonds galore, seen with a statement diamond collar necklace.

Farhana Bodi took sharp futuristic flair and red carpet glam to fuse it to make an appearance in a metallic teal gown for her Cannes appearance this year.

F1 racer Carlos Sainz Jr and his partner Rebecca Donaldson were a dashing duo in black, keeping things classic but far from boring.

On day 2, Alia Bhatt head off on a style streak. She wore a saree because what's the Cannes red carpet without one? A bespoke ivory saree by Tarun Tahiliani to offset the bright blue backdrop on day two of the festival, where she made her appearance at the India Pavilion.

She returned on the red carpet in a lavender number, replete with romantic lace and net.

Urvashi Rautela knows how to make an entrance. A lasting impression too in glitter from head to toe, in the Vietnamese designer JoliPoli, to represent the country. 

Rahi Chadda also brought the India-represent energy dressed in Dior by Jonathan Anderson. Sleek and sophisticated was his look that featured a cropped double-breasted black jacket layered over a tuxedo shirt paired with shoes by Manolo Blahnik, a Hublot timepiece, and select Messika jewellery, including a diamond ring and bracelet.

F1 royalty, Charles and Alexandra Leclerc, easily race to the top of the style charts to become the chicest couple on the red carpet, in ensembles that perfectly highlight their personal styles.

Demi Moore proved that a little colour hurts nobody on the red carpet. Cementing that case for her was a flowing lilac gown worn with her signature black locks down.

On day 3 of the festival, Diane Kruger embraced dramatic elegance at the Cannes Film Festival 2026 in a soft champagne-toned draped gown paired with a striking emerald cape detail that added theatrical movement to the look. She paired the look with minimal jewellery and braided hair, which complemented the delicate floral embroidery running through the silhouette.

 Demi Moore opted for bold glamour in a sculptural crimson column gown that stood out for its sharp structured neckline and high-shine finish. Keeping the styling sleek, she paired it with straight hair and statement diamond jewellery.

Sara Sampaio brought soft fairytale glamour to the Cannes Film Festival 2026 in an ethereal ivory gown layered with delicate tiers of frothy tulle, which was styled with sleek centre-parted hair, minimal jewellery, and barely-there makeup.

Barbara Palvin looked ethereal in a powder blue off-shoulder gown featuring soft pleating, a flowing silhouette around her baby bump, and feathered detailing along the hem, bringing a romantic, old-Hollywood elegance to the look. Dylan Sprouse complemented her in a sharply tailored black tuxedo, keeping the overall aesthetic timeless and polished.

To kick off day 4, Marion Cotillard wore a black leather-look gown with delicate straps and fluid silhouette that gave the look an effortless feel, while subtle metallic hardware details and textured fringe at the hem added a rebellious twist with minimal jewellery and softly swept-back hair.

Cara Delevingne brought sharp tailoring to Cannes in a navy pinstripe suit layered over a sheer black shirt and crisp white collar. The oversized blazer and relaxed trousers gave the look a cool, androgynous energy, while pointed patent heels and tousled waves kept it polished yet undone.

Simone Ashley delivered full red carpet drama in a striking strapless red gown with a sculpted bodice and sweeping pleated train. The vibrant silhouette moved beautifully across the carpet, combining old Hollywood glamour with contemporary couture detailing.

John Travolta brought classic Hollywood polish to the Cannes red carpet in a sharp black three-piece suit paired with a crisp white tie and matching beret. Beside him, his daughter complemented the understated glamour in a sculpted black velvet gown with a fluid silhouette.

Dua Lipa embraced playful daytime glamour in a sheer violet dress featuring delicate lace-up detailing, which she paired with striking hot pink pointed heels and a matching shoulder bag, adding a vibrant contrast to the monochromatic ensemble.

The saree continued being a style statement on the red carpet yet again on day 5. Huma Qureshi brought Indian handloom to the forefront in a lavendar saree from Shanti Banaras. 

Aditi Rao Hydari wore a custom saree from Jade by MK with jewellery from Indriya blending modernity with traditional with elegance and sophistication. 

For the following appearance, she turned to red carpet glam with a pop of colour in a structured neon green Tony Ward gown.

On day 5, Huma Qureshi returned in a black plunging number, which made it evident that a black gown has seldom ever gone wrong on the red carpet. 

Adriana Lima paved the same route and landed on something classic yet sophisticated; a strapless black gown with a statement neckpiece.
