HELLO! India Exclusive: Dubai’s “Olsen twins” Alizey and Lailli Mirza on sisterhood, success and their Desi Bling Era

Known as Dubai’s “Olsen Twins”, sisters Alizey and Lailli Mirza have spent years building careers together while carving out identities of their own. From their early days in the spotlight to starring in Netflix’s Desi Bling, the duo has turned their shared love for fashion, entertainment and entrepreneurship into a life lived firmly in front of the camera. Here, the sisters open up to HELLO! India about growing up beside each other, their definition of success and what they hope to build next.

HELLO! India: Growing up together, what do you think is the biggest thing you’ve learned from each other?

Lailli Mirza: Alizey has taught me resilience and to stay positive. No matter what’s happening, she has this incredible ability to keep moving forward with optimism. She’s also reminded me not to take life so seriously all the time.

Alizey Mirza: Lailli has taught me to think bigger. She’s never been afraid to pursue unconventional ideas or create opportunities instead of waiting for them. Watching her has given me the confidence to take bigger risks myself.

HELLO! India: Is there something you’ve taught each other that has changed the way you see life?

Lailli Mirza: We’ve balanced each other. I’ve encouraged Alizey to dream without putting limits on herself, while she’s taught me to always remain in a positive mindset.

Alizey Mirza: We constantly remind each other that success means very little if you’re not genuinely happy. We’ve learnt to celebrate each other’s wins without comparison because there’s room for both of us to shine.

HELLO! India: What’s a memory from your childhood that instantly makes both of you laugh?

Lailli Mirza and Alizey Mirza: Growing up, we were always creating little performances for our family; whether it was dancing, putting on fashion shows in outfits that absolutely didn’t match, or pretending we were presenting our own television programme. Looking back, it’s hilarious because, without realising it, we were already practising the careers we’ve ended up pursuing today.

HELLO! India: What are your favourite rituals to do together when you’re not working or attending events?

Lailli Mirza and Alizey Mirza: We’re happiest doing simple things together. We love long breakfasts where we end up talking for hours, spending time with our animals, trying new restaurants, travelling or shopping. Some of our best conversations happen when there’s no agenda and no cameras.

HELLO! India: What does success look like to each of you today?

Lailli Mirza: Success is waking up happy and healthy every morning with the freedom to enjoy life and take each moment as it comes. The ability to do whatever I want whenever I want is the epitome of success for me. Spending time doing things I’m genuinely passionate about while creating a life that feels peaceful and meaningful. It’s about impact, not just visibility.

Alizey Mirza: For me, success is waking up excited about what I’m creating. If I have creative freedom, financial independence, and the people I love around me, I feel successful.

HELLO! India: What does the future look like for you—in film, entertainment and your careers?

Lailli Mirza and Alizey Mirza: We’re excited to keep building in entertainment, but we also see ourselves as entrepreneurs first. We’d love to continue working on television and meaningful creative projects while expanding the businesses we’re building behind the scenes. Long-term, we want to create brands and platforms that outlive us—not just have careers in front of the camera.

HELLO! India: Who usually gives the better advice, and who is more likely to ignore it?

Lailli Mirza: Alizey gives very calm, balanced advice because she’s naturally good at looking at situations objectively.

Alizey Mirza: Lailli gives great advice too… whether she follows it herself is another story! We definitely call each other out when we need to, but that’s one of the best parts of being sisters—we’re always honest with each other.

HELLO! India: Is there one piece of advice your family gave you that’s stayed with you through every stage of life?

Lailli Mirza and Alizey Mirza: Our mum has always told us that your reputation is built over years but can be damaged in moments, so always protect your integrity and respect yourself above all. She’s also taught us that kindness costs nothing and the way you treat people when nobody is watching says far more about your character than any title or achievement ever will.
