Delightful, ravishing, enchanting—words that capture not only the essence of the French word ‘ravissant’, but also the spirit of an unforgettable evening that unfolded at one of India’s most iconic landmarks—The Taj Mahal Palace, Mumbai. As twilight embraced the city on August 20, 2025, the historic Gateway Room, with its high ceilings and old-world charm, was transformed into a shimmering sanctuary of artistry, opulence, and heritage, courtesy of a majestic collaboration between HELLO! India and the legendary luxury silverware house, Ravissant.

Founded in 1982 by the visionary duo Ravi and Mina Chawla, Ravissant is far more than a silverware house—it is a legacy steeped in elegance, imagination, and impeccable craftsmanship. From intricately carved silver photo frames to chic candle stands that whisper stories of bygone eras, every creation from the house of Ravissant is designed to elevate the everyday into extraordinary. It is a celebration of Indian craftsmanship intertwined seamlessly with contemporary sophistication.

Over the past four decades, Ravissant has become synonymous with regal living in India, its name spoken in hushed tones within the grand drawing rooms of India’s elite. Today, with boutiques in both Mumbai and Delhi and a global clientele that reads like a who’s who of connoisseurs, Ravissant continues to redefine what it means to live royally, artfully and majestically.

The evening commenced under the pitter-patter of monsoon rains—Mumbai’s inescapable blessing every year in August. But inside the Gateway Room, the atmosphere was electric, and the ambience was drenched in silver-hued glamour and old-world charm. At the helm of the celebration stood Malini and Charu Chawla, daughters of Ravi and Mina Chawla, welcoming the city’s crème de la crème with poised charm and an unmistakable air of grace.

Co-hosting the soirée was none other than Ruchika Mehta, the illustrious Editor-in-Chief of HELLO! Magazine India, whose eye for elegance matched the evening’s aesthetic perfectly. As guests arrived, they were greeted with the gentle sparkle of champagne flutes, the clinking of glasses forming a symphony of celebration.

The guest list was as radiant as the silver on display. From style icon Queenie Singh, ever the embodiment of refined allure, to renowned author and columnist Shobhaa De, and the elegant Natasa Stankovic, the room glittered with HNIs and Mumbai’s elite. Dressed to the nines, the attendees mingled amidst the glow of chandeliers and the soft rustle of couture fabrics, their conversations weaving seamlessly with the soft strains of classical music.

Everywhere one looked, Ravissant’s newest silverware collection adorned the space like living poetry—an eloquent showcase of craftsmanship honed by over 200 master silversmiths in their legendary workshop. With every turn, guests discovered new marvels: a wine holder with delicate, wire-like silver handles that felt as if spun from moonlight; an opulent serving tray, gleaming with understated luxury; a serene silver water fountain, its gentle flow mesmerising all who paused beside it.

But perhaps the pièce de résistance was a hand-carved statue of Radha and Krishna, the divine lovers captured in a moment of eternal love, their silver forms seeming almost ethereal under the room’s soft lighting. It stood not just as a testament to devotion but to Ravissant’s ability to blend spiritual artistry with contemporary opulence.

With champagne in hand and silver splendour at every corner, the mood of the evening was nothing short of euphoric. Guests moved gracefully through the exhibit, engaging in heartfelt conversations with Charu Chawla and sharing laughter and admiration with Ruchika Mehta. The event became more than a product showcase—it became a communion of minds that value beauty, detail, and the legacy of handcrafted excellence.

As the rain tapped gently against the windows, it seemed as if even the skies were applauding Ravissant’s triumph. The silver collection, bathed in the glow of flickering candles and ambient lighting, became the most talked-about topic of the night. The buzz was palpable, the admiration genuine.

Over the decades, Ravissant has done more than craft objects—it has crafted moments, the kind that linger long after the champagne has been gone and the lights have dimmed. With its unmatched legacy, global design language, and deeply Indian soul, Ravissant continues to be a custodian of timeless beauty.

From high-society homes to collectors' showcases across the world, their pieces are not merely décor; they are heirlooms in the making, designed for those who seek meaning behind every form and legacy behind every shine.

In a city that never stops, Ravissant reminded Mumbai of the power of stillness, beauty, and craftsmanship. And in the company of HELLO! India, it was an evening that will be remembered—not just for the glamour, but for the resounding echo of elegance it left behind.
